Complaint Review: AAMCO

I have a 2000 Toyota Camry and it was not picking up power like it use to. I took it to AMMCO to have them check the transmission because of the lost of power. They did a road test and checked the fluid. I was told that my fluid was burnt and it would cost $600.00 to take out the tranmission to find out what is making the fluid burn.

He assured me that I would need a new transmission and that it would be going out. He did not know when but he was sure it was going to happen because of the burnt fluid. He quoted me $2500.00 for a new tranny.

I took my car to a different transmission repair shop and he checked the fluid and advised me that is was darker than usual but not burnt. He did a road test and the car shifted just fine and he did not think it was my tranny. He hooked it up to the diagnostic machine and it came back as a misfire in the number one cylinder. So for all the stress that AMMCO gave me, I come to find out I just needed a tune up (SPARK-PLUGS).

I would not send any one to this place. They are all about money$$$.
