AAMCO Rip-Off Crooks - Richard Bailey AAmco Supervior charged me $2600 and did no work *REBUTTAL ..Customer satisfaction is very important
im sad to say, that it was too late when i saw this website before letting those CROOKS fixed my transmission.
It was October of this year when all the adventures and Wallet-aches started. I have a 1990 Honda Civic, it has only 112,000 miles, not bad for a 11 year old car. I brought my car to AAMCO, knowing that they will have the reputation and nationwide recognition that they say they have in their commercials.
My transmission problems were, sliding slightly when shifting to 3rd gear. I expected them to replace a part or tight some screw or something. Im only working at Mcdonald's for minimum wage, working like a dog just to live comfortably.
First day: Richard Bailey, AAMCO Supervisor, informed me that it will cost $49.00 for them to look at the car and perform a diagnostic test, I said fine. After an estimated 2-3 hour check, informed me that they will have to REBUILD the TRANSMISSION.
I asked in a solemn way, "FOR WHAT??!!!!!" he said that it has various problems involving the transmission.
I asked how much it will cost me, HE SAID around $2600.00, and I told to be real and tell me how much, He said he wasn't kidding.
i told him that I was working in MCDONALD's and I need a reliable transportation to get to work and school. He said, he will take a $100 off of the original price.
He said that I need to get it fix before the transmission put my life at risk when im driving my car.
I had to agree by choice.
Second day: Brought my car for them to fix it. had to call a taxi to get home. They had my car for 2 weeks, I had to ask a friend to fetch me to work and school, and pay him for gas at least.
2 weeks after: Got my car back. Mr.bailey informed me that he was going with me for a test drive and also informed me that my car will shift differently because the transmission fluid has to lubricate the parts for it to work properly.
Got there, paid the guy what was due, waited for him to show me how the car was done, NOTHING!!!!. He instead said that he is waiting for a call from a insurance company.
WHAT A PROFESSIONAL!!????
On the way, car went fine until it shifted to 2nd and 3rd, it was awful. nothing was fixed..
I hope this will be a warning to people that there are people out there that are waiting for innocent hard working customers to give their hard earned cash to people who works at AAMCO.

This contact and the previous contact regarding the AAMCO Transmissions in California MD are a HOAX. After careful research of our files, neither situation/vehicle matches any vehicle we have serviced.
Customer satisfaction is very important to me. When I read the reports I began researching in order to identify the customers so we could rectify the situation. I could not find any customer that would fit the profile as the ones who wrote the letters. I did respond to the 11/20/01 report and an Eric Ramosahs responded with an e-mail address of Ramosahs23@hotmail.com. I have made a number of attempts to e-mail him directly however his e-mail address appears to be invalid. While I agree with your forum of letting customers and business owners contact each other in order to resolve differences, I also feel that there should be some way to verify the legitimacy of claims.
