Complaint Review: AAMCO

After reading a few of the ex owner stories from ex aamco employees it is clear to me that there has to be something done about aamco.

I took my 98 firebird in to be diagnosed at a quote of 49.95. When I was called and informed about what needed to be fixed I was quoted 2,700.00 plus to have it repaired. When I told Jimmy, the owner, I would take the car else where to be repaired he said that if I did I owed him 795.00 for parts and labor. At this point I was informed that they did an "internal inspection." This internal inspection was never authorized and I signed no paperwork on the matter.

I told him that that was not our agreement and that I would pay him 49.95 as agreed. He refused and I asked for the manager. He said "I am the owner, got any more questions" and hung up on me. I threatened to sue him and he said, do what you gotta do, Ill win in court. According to him my license # which I gave when he towed the car, is his authorization to do any work. This happened in October 2002, it is now March 3 2003 and he still has my car.
