I took my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 to AAMCO becuase the transmission locked up. I pretty much knew it needed a new tranny but it took them an entire week to tell me it wasnt solinoids. week 2. Chris the manager told me it would cost 1400.00 as is, but he wouldnt know anything else until he took the transmission apart. this process took about 3 days. he called me to let me know i needed all new hard parts. this for a total of 2600.00. I had already lost my job at this point for not having a vehicle. and 3 weeks for a tranny!?!

Chris called me on my Birthday and told me if I could have the money THAT DAY he could have me the truck that night. my 20th birthday. i wanted my truck back for my party more than anything. i got the money called him back. and he sounded shocked and told me. they sent the wrong torque converter. my best bet would be Saturday bef noon ( this is friday)but he said since it was my birthday he'd take 100.00 off the bill. but unknown to me he told my husband he would take off 100.00 as a thanks for him being in the military overseas. i picked up the truck happy as could be to have it back. and looked over the bill and realized. he took 200.00 off but charged me 400.00 for a 187.00 torque converter. i was not happy, but i said oh well life goes on and drove off..

i made it about 50 miles down the road. truck wasnt taking off right, i took it to my friends house who's father works for dodge to find out out. i have no first gear. no over drive my shift points are dangerously high it wont downshift very well. and the transmission pan seal is leaking pretty bad. so now may 17, 2004 its sitting back at aamco in an over filled parking lot. I might know something by the 19th.. maybe... He's got 1 week to have it back to me. Or im calling my attorney. The people up there are very nice. so its hard to get mad at them. but this is ridiculous.

Trying To Be Fair. Any Advice??

Last I wrote in here my Truck was back at AAmco. its the 18th and i've heard nothing from them. I wanted to come back and say a few words, becuase I was really furious with AAmco and either I'm just too nice or have a bad guilt trip for writing that. Everything I said was 100% true. But, Chris the manager asked me if I knew what it was like to have a weeks worth of work due in 1 day, and to be honest, yes I do. I'm in training to be a police officer and yet I have trouble speaking out on my own behalf. Its so hard to be mean to them and raise my voice when Chris is just soo d**n nice to me. but , it boils down to this. they installed a worthless transmission. and since i have already paid, i know im last on their priority list, i havent driven by there today but im pretty sure the truck hasnt even been moved. how do i get my voice heard, and my truck fixed without being a total b***h. cuase thats just not me. im a fair person. but i want treated fairly too. Thanks for any advice.
