5/31/2003 - Paid for Diagnostics and Transmission Rebuild at cost of $2365.60. 1st day I picked up car did not get it out of the parking lot. CV joints were broken during the repair, and they didn't notice, right!

1998 Honda Accord has been back to the shop on 4 different occassions and continues to have the same exact problems after almost six weeks back and forth to the Ammco shop. I was told it must be engine problems now. Another time I was told there is nothing at all wrong with the vehicle, its been fixed, we are imagining problems. Within 10 miles the car would not go over 25 miles per hour.

Finally diagnosed (at another shop)as a code for the Catalytic Converter. This problem was never found or diagnosed at the Ammco Transmission Shop in St. Marys

Investigation of Faulty Workmanship:
The Ammco Mechanic, Jason did not record any diagnostic codes on initial diagnostic work and has now been fired for faulty workmanship. This was conveyed to me on 7/05/2003 by the present Customer Service Manager. The Manager showed me the original diagnostic sheet which had no written diagnostics of any kind. I was also told by the Manager that Jason and another mechanic had screwed up other peoples cars, unknown to him until the last minute.

Both mechanics had been fired the first week of July . The manager told me he had no mechanic to look at my car and that if I could be patient until he hires new qualified mechanics...After six weeks. BULL! I requested a full refund, but did not receive an answer.

The Manager told me he was trying to reach Jason the mechanic at his new job in Jacksonville, Florida, he wanted to see what was up with the original diagnostics of the Honda and why Jason had not written anything on the diagnostics sheet. "Scary, Huh!"
I paid $2365.60 for what?

I was assured by the Manager, Eugene that he would make things right with me. He would contact the owner, Axel Vanlowencloth, and get back to me with an answer. To date I have not received a call from anyone at the St. Marys Ammco Transmission shop. I have to call for any feedback.

I wrote customer service at Corporate Headquarters and asked for someone to contact me immediately to try and resolve this issue before it becomes a legal complaint in the courts. I paid my $2,365.60 in good faith expecting full service of the contracted services, diagnostics and repair services of my car.

As a customer and consumer I expected my car to be repaired based on the diagnosed problems conveyed to me, not too much to ask. Based on the diagnostics and repair contract of the Aamco Transmission shop and the mechanic, my transmission was the cause of all my problems, not true.. To date the car has the same exact problems as when first brought into the Ammco Transmission shop. Of course they can't explain that, unitl I go to other resources for diagnostics.

I do believe from all events of the past 6 weeks along with subsequent information and diagnostics (received from two other service center locations) that the auto mechanics at the St. Marys Aamco Center charged for 1. Work not done, 2. Unnessary Repairs (remember, no supporting diagnostics information)and
3. Faulty workmanship and Untrained Mechanics.

My daughter and I have been subjected and treated as if we were Dumb Blonde Women with not enough sense to get out of the rain, much less drive a car.

I am requesting a full refund of my $2,365.60 from the shop. If no one resolves this complaint in the next few days, I have no other choice but to begin civil litigation in the Georgia Magistrate Court. Of course this is not how I would like to resolve this injustice.

In Georgia the Magistrate Court allows for claims up to $15,000. Believe me if I have to follow this route, I will be asking for all the missed Time Off Work, leased vehicle, etc.

I will keep you up on the progress or non progress from Ammco Transmission

I described all events to Ms. Judy and she assured me she would get with the shop owner and get back with me with some type of resolution.

Yes Judy, I'm holding my breath on this one.

7/14/2003
I called the Ammco Customer Service Manager, St. Marys Ammco Transmission

Corporate Ammco (Judy I expect) faxed a copy of my complaint to him and the owner. The owner is trying to decide how to resolve my complaints. Service Manager, Eugene told me he had spoke with the owner and that the owner was considering having my exhaust system fixed.#@!#@

Well this is not what I contracted with Ammco Transmission services for and I will never have my vehicle back at this shop.

Service Manager then ask me if I had bought a new car, he had seem my daughter in a new car and was wondering if I had sold the car. Now I guess I have to worry about an invasion of my privacy from these individuals who are now trying to cover their selves for fraudulent business practices. All of this is such an injustice. Anybody else out there with the same problems in St. Marys. Let me know. We have to hold them accountable.
