I am having problem with AAMCO  Transmission in Frazer, PA.  I put my car in shop on July 25, 2011 got it back july 29, 2011 (I paid $3,386.70) to get a rebuild transmission.  And from that time i got my car from him it is still running like i never got it fix.  My car has bee in shop 6 times after he fixes it.  I had to put my car in the shop for inspection and he did not put my Drive Shaft Bolt back on my car so it did not pass inspection. (I paid to get the part).

What I am trying to say is I need help to get my money back to take my car to somebody else to fix.  He keeps giving me the run around, I don't have time for that because I need my car to go to work every day, I leave out of my place at 6 am every morning.  And this is the 7th weekend I cannot trust my car to go anyplace (September 10, 2011).  I don't have any more money to get a car or put it in another shop to get fix.  Can somebody please help me to get my money back so i can take it to somebody else to fix.

He say thing to me like, oh the part just walk in and i know he think it is funny.  I have even call AAMCO Customer Service (800-523-0401, ext. 314) and they keep calling him, and he still is not doing anything about my car.  If i take him to court he doesn't have to pay me back all my money at one time, they said he can pay me $5.00 a week until it is paid off.  So I don't know where to turn to but you.  Please i really need your help i don't know what else to do.  Thank you very much

As the former owner of an AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS shop (now retired) and the former transmissions Instructor at Boise State University VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL School (retired) and Special Technical Advisor for Auto and Diesel Mechanics Instructors for Curriculum Development for twenty-four vocational schools in the Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia I was impressed that the shop owner in this case was suffering the the Shop Owners Worst Nightmare.

Here's a customer that has a concern about the way her(?) car performs after an expensive repair but never explains what it does or doesn't do thus leaving us suspicious that it just doesn't work like it used to which might be why it was taken to the shop to begin with. She gets no credibility because she does not explain the nature of  the lingering problem. What prompted taking it to the shop to begin with and was that issue resolved? I have had customers demand that their transmission work in ways that the unit was never designed to do and could not be adjusted to make it do that.

Is this one of those customers whose linguistic ability is so limited that she can't communicate her concern to the shop manager? Or cannot assimilate the Manager's explanation of why he can't accomplish her desire.

On the other hand let's hear from the shop manager. If it has a problem Ya Gotta Fix It !!! I have been in that situation the cure was just exchange that unit for another one. Sometimes you just have to eat it.

AAMCO did not finish my car.  Call ABC new on them and AAMCO said they are not going to finish my car.  AAMCO have know idea how to fix transmission on RAV-4.  He kept my car for 2 months and it is still not running right.  They take your money and do not fix the problem.  Please if you have a RAV-4 don't take it to AAMCO
