I was working at AAMCO transmissions dba Pk Inc but owned /operated by Paul Boden in Norristown , Pa. Business was bad and money issues were a problem, but not due to poor work by the employees!!

The manager at the time quit because ALL of his paychecks bounced and the one r&r man quit because of bounced checks and he (boss) didn't keep up health insurance. Which left me (6 yrs there) and the other builder (11 yrs there. Before the manage quit and i found out my insurance was no good i told him i needed the insurance because my wife was losing her job and she would go on my plan because she was pregnant!! We stayed because aamco home office told us there was a buyer for the place and everything would be fine. He got us insurance in may and my wife/child were on it, which i payed for them to be on it.

Well no one bought the place and things got worse so he says he is going to take aamco to court to break the franchise agreement that they violated and be an independent shop (so he says)!!

Well, on july 8 he said that aamco wouldn't allow him to operate in that building as an independent , so he was closing the doors !! July 9 was our last day he gave us our checks (post dated to friday ) and said that vacation pay would come in the mail next week. My wife talked to him about the insurance and was told it was good until August 15. He also told me and the other builder the same thing !! The next day she called Aetna and they confirmed that also. Well the paychecks bounced and the vacation pay never came! I also couldn't collect unemployment right away because he never paid it in (but took it from my pay). We had to call cops to get my paycheck money and then on the 13th my wife had the kid .

August 5 my wife gets a call from the hospital stating our insurance was no good. Try to call boss no replies . Seems on july 25 he calls and cancelled insurance and has it backdated to july 14! Then on August 1 he calls again and has insurance back date it to June 14! So now we are stuck with the bills !!

The Aamco Transmission on Main street in Norristown, Pa. is closed; the building has been torn down. The New Aamco Transmission in Norristown is on Johnson Highway (the old Cottman Transmission of Norristown). I am the owner, Bill Gleason. Our reputation is clean and our employees have been here for years.

I also know how it effects the wife and kids. A long time ago and I mean a long time ago I worked at a shop where some times we had to get are pay check holding a C-6 output shaft. But if your a decent biulder you get another job make friends with the sales man though, See Aamco will have to honor those warranties of the shop that closed down. Now every car that comes in for a check up or a little leak or just drives by of coarse has to come out and make sure you fill out everything to the T, And if you have a pile of bad parts laying around well its your shop(your the biulder) And here are the bad parts and if you don't believe me well before you get here they'll be sure enough bad. Nothing but the best you understand aamco deserves at least that.

Randy : Sorry all this happened to you.Sometimes when u see thingz goin badd "don't" wait for the outcome. Leave !!! As you said it was not due to the work or the workforce. If you have the "rep" for what you do~~~~Jobz are alwayz waiting for you. When you see paychecks that can't be cashed promises are just as good.AZZ U KNOW AAMCO MAKES PROMISES TOO. Thats why this site is here.
