AAMCO transmission ripoff charged $5400 within 2 years for 2 transmissions Danbury Connecticut
I have an Isuzu Rodeo; 2001. The transmission first died at 70K miles (I do NOT change gears unless going downhill on snow or ice; I'm VERY careful with shifting, etc.) AAMCO rebuilt it (it was in the shop for approx. 3 weeks~) and they charged me $2400 with 1 year warranty. At that time, they asked me if I wanted to put a "cooling system" in it, because that MIGHT have caused the problem (overheating).
I asked if that was DEFINITELY the cause; they didn't know. So I said, no way! I'm already paying $2400; it should last until the car dies! Less than 2 years and 36K miles later, it died again; this time they charged me $3000.
I think this is ridiculous that it only lasted for 36K miles! They should have given me a MUCH bigger break,not charge me EVEN MORE than the last one! I will NEVER go to AAMCO again and I will tell all my friends to do the same!
