I went to aamco where Joe the salesman/manager was there and dropped my truck off to be looked at.Joe  called and said they need to take apart transmission to see what was wrong around 500.00 to do this i said ok.Joe called a couple days later and said it will cost about 2.800.00 to fix my transmission i said you know i dont have that kind of money i cant aford it.He asked to speak to my boss at the time and he told joe he would pay to have it done.Well in the mean time my truckm was fixed and my boss then told me sign the title over to him and he will pay the bill i said no you knew i didnt have money to pay it i was towing your work trailer for last year just pay it.He said no so i tried to work out payment arangements with joe he wanted all money up front and would not let me have my tools or tag off my truck.so i had my father call and say he was comming with me and joe the manager said he better have the cops with us cause hes going to hurt my father a senior citizen so the the sheriff gos with me and my father to get stuff joe and the owner were not happy.I had got a phone call from my former boss that i needed to go back to aamco a couple days later to get the rest of his tools out so i show up and get everything out and get slapped with treaspassing warning even though the cops and my former boss needed me there cause aamco manager joe said they lost key and i had a spare so my exboss could get rest of his tools. So now the truck is still sitting there but i called palm beach county consumor affairs and they felt it was serious enough to sent it to the state of florida dept of agraculter who deals with buisness.they can take out what ever they put it put it back to the way it was when i brought it to them and ill have someone else fix it.

Not the AAMCO Dealers fault

#9Consumer Comment

The biggest problem I have with the "report" is that the customer's boss agreed to pay for the repairs for him. If he did not want his boss to do this he should have told the AAMCO shop not to do the work. It is not the dealers fault, he did what the customer and the customer's boss "Authorized" him to do. If you have a problem with the agreement with your boss, take it up with him.

So many times people take to the internet to throw someone under the bus, because they feel that it's OK to stretch the truth and feel vindicated. The ugly truth is that they are cowardly lying to others, because of their own short comings. Worse yet they are hurting someones business/personal reputation. They do not want to admit to themselves that they are at fault. It's easier to blame someone else when things go wrong, then it is to accept them and move on.

I'm going to assume that you never yelled, screamed, cursed or threatened the AAMCO guys at all. Because if you did that would make you look bad, right. I'm gonna guess that you threatened them when you said someone was coming up there with you. That might make me a little less cooperative as well.

Your problem is with your former employer and not with this repair station. You entered into 2 different agreements with concern to the repair work. 1. YOU authorized AAMCO to repair the truck. No one else can do this. You are the owner. No one can force you to have it repaired. 2. YOU entered into and agreement with your former employer to have him pay for it, then backed out when he expected you to pay him back. That has nothing to do with the the repair costs.

Man up and accept that you were the cause of the problem and quit blaming others for your inadequacies.

Mr Stanley

It is indeed rather difficult to understand your entire dilemma due to your inability to communicate in standard written English.

In regards to a lien on you vehicle, - the lienor must give notice, by certified mail, return receipt requested, within 15 business days, excluding Saturday and Sunday using the address you gave him when you brought the truck in, therefore you should already have the paperwork you are requesting.

If the lienor did not mail you this notice, then the lien is not valid.

the same thing just happened to me today ! same dealer , brought my comapmy truck in for suspected u-joint replacement , was told that they would road test the truck , which is fine , i waited , the mechanic agreed with me , after the drive , Kash the person at the front desk told me about some error codes they would look at , called me back and said there were 2 {two} moduals that needed to be replaced ! {2} , i told him to call my company owner to have that athorized..She instructed Aamco to contact me to see if i agreed , since i was the one always driving the vehical , they DID NOT  contact me , and instead told the company owner that the trans was shot , mind you i have had absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission at all ! the trouble was a noise from the u-joints {per machanic} subsequently my company owner was under the impression that they HAD contacted me and they installed a rebuilt trans and converter for $3239.41 i picked the truck up tonight and the same noise i originally complained about is still there ............. no change AT ALL  ...... more to follow ................

So it seems now that 2-$20 U-Joints  have inflated to a price of $3239.41 ... more to follow be sure of that !

You should not be writing on here until you go back to school, and at least communicate like a human being.  No one on here can understand your statement.  Run-on sentence after run-on sentence, sentence fragments, no punctuation.  Just terrible.  Are you in 3rd grade?  Get an education.

It is unfortunate that Mr. Staley did not uphold the agreement made and pay for repairs that he authorized.

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Im writing in response to the complaint filed by Mr. Troy Staley.  Mr. Staley called our shop to have his 1998 Chevy Tahoe towed in with a transmission problem.  He complained that it banged and clanked and was un-drivable.  Upon completion of our transmission scan and road test we confirmed his concerns and explained that the transmission needs to be removed and inspected further to determine the extent damage.  He authorized the service on September 29th and on September 30th we called to give him the results of the internal inspection.  Mr. Staley authorized the complete repair and we rebuilt the transmission as agreed.

After the transmission was complete we called Mr. Staley to pick up his vehicle and we were told that his brother fired him and he has no money.  His brother attempted to obtain financing and was unable to do so; we even tried to make payment arrangements in house.  They were unwilling to pick up the vehicle and left us no other choice but to place a lien on the vehicle for the services rendered.

Once Mr. Staley received the notice of lien papers he started getting belligerent with our manger at one point even threatening physical harm.  We called the police and had him removed from the property and placed a no trespass warning on him. As far as personal belongings, the police allowed Mr. Staley to take certain things from the vehicle however he was requesting the radio and a few other installed items that we required to stay with the vehicle.  He took his belongings and we have not heard from him since. The vehicle is still at the shop if he wants to pay for the repairs he authorized.
