My transmission on my 1994 Blazer broke down in Amarillo Texas when I was traveling from Arizona to Chicago to get back to school. They said it would take 3 days to repair so I left it there and asked for the old parts.
After 3 days, it was not ready and I had to rent a car to Chicago to attend classes. The following week, I had to drive back to get my car and they did not have the old parts.

The total cost of repairs was $2,320. The receipt had scratched out numbers and did not total up.
Material costs were itemized as: Hard parts $300, Converter $200. but the total for parts is written $850. Under service description column, the parts is written in as $350. The warrenty charge is shown as $460 for 36 months and also $750 for 12 months.

When I complained, they said I authorized the repairs over the phone.

Even I worked for the company longer than you did. Four months, could this mean you are not worth the tools you used to do the job?!I have been in this business for 25 years and have never seen anyone last only four months. You must really suck!My complaint really has nothing to do with the work provided except that that way too much money was charged for the job, simply check around. This guy says he wished he knew who I was. If he had been in this business any time at all in Amarillo he would know who I was. This community (trans buisness) is really tight in this city and everyone knows everyone!)We change job locations all the time in search of a better deal. Most of us have worked at many locations in town and know who pays well and does a reliable and legitimate service.Aamco is an embarassment to work for!Take it if you need the job but don't tell anyone you work there.I'm not here to get into a pissing contest, I have worked for shops that do ten times the business Aamco does both here and in Dallas,Texas for two thirds the price and twice the warranty(actually honored). In Amarillo you have around thirty choices to take your car to;Shop around!Notice that nowhere in this article did I tell where to take your car.Simply check your options. No one will give you a higher quote than Aamco! All the parts come from the same places(Bishops,Transtar,Etc.)Why does it cost you 500 to 1000 dolars more to have your car repaired at Aamco? If you still think I am a disgruntled employee shop around!

People Don't believe everything that they say. I worked at that shop for 4 mo's and they did do good work. They charged more then most shops but they did good work. This guy saying that out of towners are good for 2,000 dollars was just mad because he probably got fired. They did charge more for out- of towners but they made sure they got done first. So this Bill guy really crossed the line and I would like to let everybody know that this shop isn't that way. For the guy that had the problem. They could have made a mistake but he was probably just mad because he paid 2300 something dollars. That does sound like a lot but go to the dealer. Bill guy I wish I knew your last name I would put your name and address for ex-disgruntled employees. Grow up and get real. Publish something that is true sucker.

make them fire you

Bill you should have made them fire you. I mean I'm not going to work for a thief either but I have found that when you make them fire you and then they try to fight unemployment to, Because thats the type of people they are when you show up at the hearing and have some type of record with names or license numbers of the cars that you know were ripped off, Well its just so funny watching their face when they change their mind and want to now allow you to receive unemployment

I have seen many cases like yours. if you are from out of town you are automatically set up for over 2000 dollars in repairs

there was nothing wrong with your transmission i have worked there for almost year and have seen many cases like yours.

if you are from out of town you are automatically set up for over 2000 dollars in repairs, there's nothing you can do about it, you have to have your car.

the company has a program called protect check wich is designed to drain you of your money. if the ticket is not high enough they will tell you your brakes are bad, your shocks are wore etc. They need more than than 2000 dollars per car to survive. This information alone tells you that to stay alive this company needs your buisness to survive.

I have detailed information on many vehicles such as the one i have described.

This shop is operated by Gary Waters(who by the way is not willing to pay his employees anything but will take every dime you have)at area code 806 353 6810 (shop) or 806 355 8951 (6702 opal ct 79124 amarillo).

If i had a scanner connected now i would send you a copy of the note this assshole left on my check stub because i would not attempt to sell someone several hundred dollars in repairs they did not need.(This cost me my job)

You will notice when you call that the dialog you recieve has been written down for the sales manager to read while he is on the phone with you. He will tell you that we will test drive your vehicle, drop the pan, etc.(cost roughly 80.00 dollars)This process is designed to hook you into a very costly repair(never less than 1000 dollars, in fact usually closer to 2000 dollars or more)

The fact that this shop has a sales manager should be enough to warn you off but if not you should at least know that this sm was a car salesman before taking this job(3% of shop sales plus salary)_and these tactics will become evident as you talk with him (he actually knows nothing about the transmission in your vehicle-no training-the case is the same with the owner,Gary Waters whom i personally had to take on a road trip just to teach him how to tell if a converter was locking up!)

With the expertise this man has he might as well be running a burger king!I know that alot of this does not apply to your case but as the man who actually worked on your vehicle, believe me, you were ripped off! This must seem like a very negative letter from an ex employee but the fact that i had to quit and go to work for a reputable company should speak for itself.

stand up against what they have done to you

Anytime that 1. You did not give permission over the phone 2. Or if you did but the price has been changed when you get there. Just do one thing don't pay or sign anything just ask if you can use the phone and call tne police. Get them there make sure they put in thier report what happened whether you did not tell them to fix it or the price is now different. They have names for people like that, that do things like that, they are called inmates, And if more people would stand up against what they have done to you they wouldn't get away with it. You want to know what they do when you leave after they have done what you have complained of? Laugh yes laugh at you I have seen themm do it.

Randy~~~~~~At this point~~~~how much will it cost to fix it??? The overcharge~~~This must be done at the time of pick up. If you sue they "you" will have to bear all the cost until its settled~~(if it happens) then what??? a way to fight back is see if this shop has done this same tactic to others (another cost) then you can notify the D.A. in that county an see if they want to prosecute~~~~if you have deep pockets itz notta problem~~~~THEY GOT YOU !!!! Sometimes your first loss is the best one~~~~~~~~THE TRANZMN
