Had a Transmission put in March/April 01 (94 Ford Probe SE). Supposedly rebuilt. Cost $2800.00!. Received car from Aamco Nov 01(took a while to pay), engine blew same 10 minutes SAME DAY from the Aamco in Monroeville to the Wilkinsburg exit on the parkway, never made it home. Engine replaced Mar 02 (aamco purchased engine $500.00, I covered installation). Car not drivable until Mar 02 when engine was replaced.

Car then driven until 7/9/03 . A little over a year later, TRANSMISSION FAILURE!!. less than 2K on the car since 1st Transmission repair. Aamco first stated it was the speed sensor and it would be less than $100.00, Aamco then thought it was something else (that they ordered the wrong part) and stated it would cost less than $200.00 After 3 days stated THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG, IT WOULD COST $1100.00 +. My first warranty started in Dec01 (although the car was sitting in Aamco parking lot due to the engine, and NOT DRIVEN UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. Car towed to another shop to replace engine FROM the Armco shop. Warranty shouldn't have started until Mar02 engine replacement.

Either way,I am still 3 1/2 Months outside the warranty if that were the case. the transmission failed after I paid a substantial amount of money. I travel to school/work, less than 3 miles. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED, AND WOULD APPRECIATE SOME TYPE OF REFUND OR REAL REPAIR. WHAT DID I PAY FOR?.

THEY WANTED $1100.00 MORE TO FIGURE WHAT WAS WRONG AFTER THEY STATED WHAT IT WAS TWICE, AND JUMPED THE PRICE FROM less than 100.00 to less than 200.00 up to $1100.00. AAMCO SHOULD EXCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY DID AN UNSATISFACTORY JOB. I need to UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN HAPPEN, I PAID A LOT OF MONEY TO END UP ONE YEAR LATER AND HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FAIL AGAIN ! I have driven the car for ONE YEAR since I've given them $2800.00
Spoke with Aamco headquarters, and they stated that there is nothing they can or will do. They simply told me to pay for it AGAIN!.

This is only the beginning of this complaint!.

But if the warranty is 1 year from date of delivery then its one year not one year and a day. If you have a action line tv station you might be able to get some help I wouldn't bet on you getting much help from the BBB but you could try them anyway, Short of standing accross the street with a sign saying you FEEL that they ripped you off and did you notice you FEEL make sure and put that in there. Like I've said in short of doing something like that consider it a lesson and never make that mistake again but stop and wonder why they were willing to bend over backwards about the motor why didn't they tell you find a place and have it fixed and they better do it right or your warranty will be void? Could they have done something wrong?
