I transfered services of NV Energy due to relocation from the sale of a home. Services were sucessfully reestablished by both the new occupant and myself at my new address. Due to an undisclosed error or NV Energys inability to propertly manage their accounting, a small, prorated balance was left on my account and for reasons unexplained I was not notified nor was it transferred to ongoing billing for services at my new address (set up under the same name and SSI).

Subsequently this outstanding balance was given to Aargon Collection Agency of Las Vegas, NV. Despite a funtioning fwd address, a publically listed phone and continued / existing service at NV Energy referancing all of my updated address, email and contact information, NO efforts were made by Aargon Collections to contact me and allow for the opportunity to pay the balance owed prior to reporting the debt to credit bureaus.

Upon receiving notification of the open collection via a credit alert (where my credit score dropped 140 points), I contacted Aaron Collections whose business model is apparently not to collect on debts but to report them prior to giving clients any opportunity to pay then charging an extortion fee for an ineffective 'deletion letter' that reads as follows:

Aargon Agency respectfully requests that the above mentioned account(s) be removed from your records.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have created. If I can be of further assistance to remove this from the above credit report, please contact me at (702) 220-7037.

Per other online complaints of Aargons unethical business practices, this paid deletion service which only and allegedly also includes an electronic transmittal of the above (that they will provide no vierification of) is ineffective and simply a scam to extort additional funds on top of the collection amount and existing fees. This service, their lack of ethics and their rude condescending demeanor are a poor reflection on NV Energy who as a publically subsidized organization should seemingly have an obligation to evaluate and reconsider use of their services.
