I went to this Aaron's location to look at purchasing a sofa. They had a nice set for over $1,000.00 and the payments for 12 months would have been about $127.00. When I inquired what the price and payments would be on the sofa alone I was told that the sofa was $650.00 and my payments would be $70.00 for 12 months. I asked if they could do 18 months to lower my payment and I was told they could not, but if I wanted to sofa/loveseat they would give me 18 months and possibly 24 months to pay. What a rip off!!!!!

They wanted me to purchase something extra that I didn't need just to lower my payments! If I had $70.00 a month to spend I would have gone to --- or --- and bought a $2000.00 livingroom set and stopped by Best Buy and picked up a 50 inch flat screen to go with it!!!

Aaron's didn't want my business, if they did they wouldn't have tried to get me to spend more money - they would have let me purchase just the sofa and let me have the 18 months to pay!!

Stay away from the Azusa, California Aaron's!!!!!! Huge Rip Off!!!!!!!!

The reason why you were denied an 18 month term on the couch is that there is a minimum price on merchandise before a term can be extended (usually between $80-100 /month on a 12 month term, depending on which state you're in). It's simply not profitable to the company to extend terms out on relatively inexpensive items because of the way Aaron's purchases the items it sells. I understand it's disappointing, but you'll save a lot of money (and probably headaches) in the long run by saving up for a few months and purchasing a couch retail somewhere. Good luck!
