We took our car to Aastro transmissions because they had a coupon advertizing a $5.99 check up. The shop called to say they needed to take some things apart to see what was wrong. They said it would be around $300.00. We agreed. The next time they called they said it would be $3000.00 to fix the car. We said "no" we could not afford that.
We asked them to put the car back together. They said "no". We advised them that we would have the car towed to another shop. Aastro delayed the towing of the car for several hours. When the car arrived at the new shop, the new mechanic discovered that the six big bolts that hold the transmission up were missing.
We called Geroge Hamill, the manager of Aastro and asked him about the bolts. He denied that they were missing. My husband went to the shop and George threw $3.00 at him telling him the bolts were only worth that much.
We had the car repaired for $1200.00. When we went to pick the car up and noticed that the front of the stereo is missing. The new mechanic says it arrived at his shop like that.
We paid Aastro transmission $340.00. We also paid to tow the car from their shop. We never expected them to keep the bolts, or to tamper with our stereo. We are feeling ripped off.
