ABBA Training What A Joke! Abbott, Texas
I purchased an online course for continuing education from this company to complete my electrical licensing requirements.
There is no way to demo their courses, you buy them and if you don't like what you get, then that's just too bad. They offer a 100% money back guarantee if you don't pass your CE education course. Well, I didn't pass, and they are refusing to refund my money.
If you have ever taken a CE course, you know what they are supposed to be. I won't tell you what they offer, because of copyright laws, but in my opinion, this is the last class you ever want to take to complete your CE requirements. I found it to be so difficult to pass their exams (yes exams!) after reading page after page of code citations that relate to nothing I have ever encountered in my business over the past 15 years. There is no audio, just reading. What a boring waste of time.
I gave up after my eyes started to hurt from the hour of reading, and of course they again refused my refund. Oh well, maybe before you buy their product, you'll read this and find someone else.

It has been several years and I still feel the same way about this company. I ordered their course, started taking it and you had to read page after page of information. Then there was a quiz after the reading to make sure you read the information. After about 10 minutes I was disgusted, bored and canceled the course, thus not passing the exam. Most CE classes don't make you quiz after each segment.
When I canceled the course, the business said I had completed too much of it to be given a refund. It was for that reason that I decided to file this report.
As of today, I would still NOT recommend this company and stand by everything I said in the original post.
Calling me a conehead and claiming to be a real electrician, saying I am not one is childish. But anyone that would assume my course was great is a child with no experience in CE. It would do you good to try another company and see what else is out there since you claim to e using this one for years and years. I assure you there are many many much BETTER.

William is most likely from a competitor website trying to trash Abba Training. I read the reply from the representative from Abba and nothing I read seemed bogus to me. Nothing that William wrote is accurate or true.
I have been taking my electrician CE on the Abba website for probably 7 years and have always been satisfied. There are NO exams that are graded, and after the course is completed, the results are reported to TDLR for CE credit for the license to be issued. I have never had a problem with getting my license year after year.
There are two kinds of electricians - Real electricians like me, and wanna-be electricians like William. I would bet that he's probably working at McDonald's right now.

I would like to respond to the comments made here about our company and our electrician training course.
Regarding our Money Back Guarantee policy and the comment "difficult to pass their exams": We will refund a course if the student does not pass it, but our training course(s) do not have a "Pass / Fail" requirement (not required by the State). There is no way for anyone to "fail" our course. A matter of fact we give our students the correct answer on the spot, regardless if they get the answer right or wrong. We don't even show or report the exam score/results to the State. We only report that they have completed 100 percent of the training course. Check with the State of Texas (TDLR) to confirm.
We clearly state this at the beginning of our training course and in our course syllabus "no minimun passing score". Please let us know if this is false?
Regarding Abba Training's refund policy, here is what it says: Refund Policy: Students requesting a refund or exchange for an online course must do so within (15) fifteen calendar days from the order date to receive a full refund. Students requesting a refund or exchange after (15) fifteen calendar days will not be refunded or exchanged. No refunds will be granted for online course that are 25 percent completed.
This refund policy is clearly stated three times: 1. just prior to check-out 2. email payment receipt 3. FAQ page. Please let us know if this is false?
We have a 25 percent no refund policy in order to protect our training course content from copyright. We have a few bad apples copy and distribute our training course in the open market.
This student completed 31 percent of the training course, thus did not qualify for a full refund. To help resolve the issue and to get to the root cause, we requested a detailed explaination from the student. This will help us better understand why he wants a full refund, but this student did not reply to the request.
In the last 12 months, of all the students who took our Texas 4hr Electrician CE course, +300 of them took our online customer satisfaction survey. Here are some of the results: 80.1% of our students will return to our company next year for their CE needs, 90.4% of our students would recommend our company to others, and we maintain an "Above Average" rating in regards to customer service, web site navigation, course navigation, etc. We have room for improvement, but we see overall positive results from our surveys.
We run an ethical and honest small business...our company name sake remains us of such.
We will do right by this person and have refunded the training course.
