This afternoon I received this E-mail in my inbox. I really didn't believe the extent of it until I looked for myself. I'm telling you - this company is PEDDLING PORNOGRAPHY TO CHILDREN AND TEENS!! Check out their website, http://www.abercrombie.com, and see for yourself! In particular, click the "Women's" link at the top (BEWARE: This IS pornography, folks). Let's take action against Abercrombie & Fitch's indecency and protect our children & teens!

School in . . We are in the final stages of our dress code for next school year and are recommending to the Board that we ban any type of A & F clothing. In our committee discussions, it was suggested that we ban Hollister clothing as well because A & F is their parent company. Can you verify this for me. I need an answer yesterday. My board meeting is tonight.

ADA NOTE: Yes, A&F is the parent company of Hollister. A&F attempts to hook young consumers of all ages with their "abercrombie" stores for children, "Hollister" for young teens, and the "Abercrombie & Fitch" stores.
Other Christian Schools are beginning to take similar stands.

We pray that all Christian schools will follow this example, "for what fellowship has light with darkness?" (II Cor. 6:14) What better opportunity for Christian parents and schools to demonstrate to young people what it means to identify with Christ, and not with the works of darkness. If you have affiliation with a Christian school, urge the school's leadership to take a stand on this important issue.

I am not a skeptic, but today I went to A & F's website
after discovering a friend purchased a few A & F
articles of clothing from Goodwill. I wanted to see
first hand their neglect of decency. I explained to
my friend how they used pornography to advertise their
clothing. However, I haven't yet first hand taken
a look at exactly how "bad" it was. WELL, after
viewing just a few pages on their website I went
directly to their contact us page and emailed them
this message: "I came to check out your site and I am
absolutely horrified of the amount of pornographic
material present. Please rest assured that not only
will my children NOT wear your clothing, I will be
making sure all my friends and colleagues are
completely aware of your hidden agenda. It's a shame
you have to use naked bodies to sell your clothing.
Isn't that an oxymoron?"

After going onto the web, to locate a national marketing office for Abercrombie & Fitch, I also found your web site.
I thought you might be interested in a recent situation that occurred over the Labor Day weekend. While shopping at Rosedale Center, in Roseville, MN, I ventured into an Abercrombie's. As I was entering the store, a young man, wearing what appeared to be sweat pants, and "flip-flop" style sandals, was standing in to the doorway. In addition to being effectively, shoeless, he was also bare-chested. He was chatting away with the store help.
My immediate reaction was that this customer, who I thought was just trying on clothing, should stay in the fitting room, until he was properly clothed. Imagine my surprise to find that this young man was the "store greeter".

I have worked for Abercrombie & Fitch for four and a half years. I started at Hollister in Dallas, Texas when I was seventeen and now, at twenty-one, I am the manager at an A&F in Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma at the age of twenty with a degree in business, majoring in marketing and will begin OU Law School in August. I have seen the attacks on this company for years. The argument that A&F is pornographic is skewed. The retailer sells attractive clothing to collegiate young adults. We do not place thirteen year old on our marketing for a reason. If you look at Abercrombie (the children's store) and Hollister (for the high school crowd) owned by A&F you will see a much different atmosphere. We show beautiful bodies. Our associates are taught to be out-going and friendly in a self-confident manner. We seek to establish the reputation as people who live a fun-seeking, well educated, independent lifestyle.
While I can understand the need for parents to protect their children from being exposed to content too explicit for their age, it is hard to understand why the attacks are against A&F and not against other retailers such as Victoria's Secret. Is it because we are used to seeing women as sex objects and not men? I doubt our greeters are wearing less than the supermodel in her lace panties. Whatever the reason the point is the same: A&F (like VS) does not want your thirteen year old to live the lifestyle we promote. Our associates and the core of our customers are the collegiate adults America has raised to be strong, confident, and the epitome of what enormous potential idealism in youth can create.

Whoever is trying to boycott Abercrombie is definitely a prude! Porn? Are you KIDDING me? If you don't like it, don't shop there, look at the website, or the catalogue. I have worked at Abercrombie for almost 5 years and obviously enough people like it to keep it in business. They do not advertise with porn. Yeah, you will see the occasional breast or butt, umm hello what year is it now? And you can't buy the catalogue if your under 18. They've even made it now to where their workers under 18 can't even recieve the catalogue (Everyone who is employed at Abercrombie gets it free) Get over yourselves and get a life. There is nothing wrong with this company.

I just got home from church and started reading reports. I visited the URL given by the original poster and looked over the website of this clothing company.
I was appalled! There wasn't any porn there .. not even any pr0n. (Geek speak for porn in online chat, if you haven't seen that spelling before.)
Seriously, what is the problem with that website and the pictures on it? Men go around without shirts all the time and it's not illegal. I kiss my husband on the cheek in public (even at church where we sit close together in the front row with our arms around each other as we listen to the sermon) and that's also not illegal. Why are you whining about pictures of the same thing?
Next I had my husband look at the website and also an online Christian friend. They both had the same impression of it that I did. None of us saw a thing wrong with it. We saw models in poses that you will see in almost all media that models are utilized.
