For X-mas I printed out the info on a Camcorder I wanted, which I found online at Abes of Maine for a good price, and gave the info to my wife for ordering.  The sales person on the phone told my wife that the battery that came with the Canon HF S10 only lasted 1/2 hour and encouraged her to buy a longer life battery, which she did.  The price of the Camera was supposed to be $939 with a free case and a class 6 16GB SD memory card, and with free shipping.  When I got and camera and finally saw the bill:

    1. The original battery lasted over an hour under normal use and the additional    battery they sold us, who knows, because it is not compatible with the camera and there is no way to know how much time is on the battery and when it is going to run out.

    2. Instead of sending a class 6, 16 GB memory card, they send a class 2 memory card, which is of inferior quality.

    3. Instead of charging me $939 for the camera, they billed by $999.

When I called Abes of Maine, they could care less about the bait and switch they pulled and would not correct the situation, nor would they issue me a RMA because I'm 5 days late in notifying them since the camera was ordered in the beginning of December and was not opened until December 25 and then was not addressed right away since the holidays were busy.  This company is a fraud and I would not do business with them ever again.  Which is a shame for them because i buy alot of electronics online. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company, so lets see if they will stand behind me.

I ordered camera from Abe's of Maine. Received email order confirmation. I also received email to call 1-800-992-2237 ext. 272 to talk to Jeff. I did. Jeff asked me what battery pack I want to buy with camera. I told him that I can use battery from my older Sony camera. I also ask him question about camera I ordered. It was just simple question "Is the camera I ordered International version or version manufactured for US market" (since this is not mentioned on company web page). He obviously did not like my question and start to argue with me. As the result he canceled my order for no reason. Very unpleasant experience.

Buyers Beware! This is a big ripoff company called Abes of Maine! They are a Bait & Switch operation!

Abes of Maine, they run a scheme called “Predatory free capitalism” it's a terrible inhumane deplorable practice, they're going to sucker you in with low prices and then they're going to rip you apart and then they going to upsell you on things that should of been involved. Abes of Maine is what’s wrong with society. If you’re wondering what is wrong with society, this is one company that is using deplorable’s business practices to do whatever they want and rip people off! There are so many complaints on this business, it is unbeliveable they are still in business.

Don't buy from Abes of Maine, these guys are a bait & switch operation, they're method of business is scheming people with extra fees, they call to verify your card but also they will add charges and bill you anyway without notification even if you decline to accept the item, they are ruthless and they have a department for chargeback, they apparently have a lot of angry customers that have declined payments where they are horrible over the phone and have the worst record on for online reviews. Yes they will think of any reason to raise the price after you made the purchase. I mean seriously read the online reviews on this company; they have customer after customer of their shrewd service on a host of complaints all over the internet on this scheme operation. Buyers beware, do NOT buy from these people. Worst experience ever is with this company, had to fight my bank to get my money back and to see how they responded to the bank, yes they lied to my bank and they wouldn't return my calls or emails to them, even their supervisor.

Yes I was a victim of this horrible business of their scheme business practice, so I am posting information allover online to inform people this is a scam business. abesofmaine.com/LG_Signature_C7_Series_OLED65C7P_-_65_OLED_Smart_TV_-_4K_UltraHD_1031760.html?l=Criteo&?utm_source=Criteo&utm_campaign=Retargeting&utm_medium=CPC

Stay away from Abes of Maine; seriously don't buy from these people.

Make sure you didn't get stuck with a gray market (international) warranty. Read the warranty over carefully to be sure.

Very interesting.  I will be purchasing a new HDTV next month and ABE'S was on my short list of retailers from which to order it.  I'm glad that the situation in which you were involved was rectified, however, this should NEVER have happened to begin with.  And to be given the " run-around " as you were is totally unacceptable.  I think my list just became shorter by one.  I'll pass on Abe's and purchase elsewhere.

Issues resolved by Abes of Maine

Sarah in customer service sent me out a replacement memory card and told me that I could keep the one incorrectly sent.  She also issued me a refund for the amount that was supposed to be charged and issued a pick-up order for the battery pack that was not compatible.  Abes of Maine ultimately made it right. Thank you!

The person who took the order and misrepresented the price and capabilities (or lack thereof)  of the Cannon HF-s10 was Phil at ext. 219.  The person I spoke with the other day was Brian Peterson, who when asked if I could discuss it further with a supervisor,  refused to transfer me and told me "that dealing with customer complaints is what they pay him to do". My invoice # is AV60899. Anything that you could do to get me what I bargained for would be greatly appreciated.  Ron

Dear Customer,

I do not work in customer service, however part of my job is to ensure customers continue patronizing our business. That being said, a frustrated customer is a source of extreme concern for me.  Would you please help me in discovering what exactly went wrong here? You may email me at Sarah@abesofmaine.com or Call my supervisor, David Mosseri, Vice president, at 888-992-2237 x203.

Thank you for your time,

Sarah M
