We arrived via train in Orlanda FL on June 14, 2005 and took a cab to the Orlando Welcome Center at the Amerihost Hotel, where we were told we would be staying. Once we registered however, we were told we were not staying at the Amerihost (AH), as the Mini Getaways (MG) agent told us (they sold us the package) but rather at a place called Quality Plaza (QP) wich was another half hour cab ride away. (We had sent the cab driver on his way thinking we had arrived at our final destination.)

I called the QP. They do not have a free shuttle to Disneyworld, the purpose of our trip. AH does have a free shuttle. The shuttle at QP cost $12 per person. With five people in our party that comes to a total of $60 a day, x 5 days, $300.00! Plus the QP is further away from Disney than the AH meaning more travel time to and from and less in the park.

We were exhausted, hot in the steaming heat, with two frustrated kids 5 and 7, so we decided to stay where we were, at the AH, the hotel we were told we would be staying at in the first place. (The agent from MG, Margaret, even told me to look up the AH on the internet and told me what a fine place it is. She was right. We liked it.

Both MG and Absolute Reservation Center (ARC) knew the purpose of our trip and the importance of a free shuttle.)

Of course I had to pay for the AH on top of the monies I had sent to these outfits, a total of $428.00. Our bill for the AH came to $535.00.

My wife called the next day from the AH to register a complaint and was told to send a letter to the Board of Directors. We sent the letter on June 23, 2005, detailing what I've written here and asking for compensation. THEY NEVER REPLIED. I also sent emails and got no reply.

It took repeated phone calls to ARC and faxes and emails before our trip to get a response. I had a bad feeling and would have backed out but they already had my money.

Thank you for this opportunity to voice my complaint and concerns.
