Abt Electronics Abt does not behind their products/ poor customer service Glenview Illinois
We spent approximatly $30,000 on high end appliances at Abt. We worked with Renee Karnes and her husband Andrew. Renee sold us a number of "floor models" . All appliances where installed about a 18 months ago and we started to use them 12 months ago. We had serious problems with these "floor models". The Meile coffee maker ($2500) did not work. Abt refused to send anyone out without a charge. Meile did stand behind the product and fixed the coffee maker. Now the LG washing machine just leaked. we called Abt for help, again they refused to send anyone with out a $150 plus parts charge. The washing machine has a sticker on it from Abt saying it was inspected and in good working condition, not true. Don't buy from these people they have terrible customer service. The reps that answer the phone don't even bother to be nice. I really wonder if this LG washer "floor model " was a floor model or a product returned to Abt and resold as a floor model. There where also problems with the dishwasher, it needed a new computer panel (no help from Abt, Meile took care of the problem), the Meile refridgerator did not work properly, again nothing form Abt, Meile replaced it. The BEST hood also broke after about 3-4 weeks. Called Abt, nothing, no help. Again BEST sent out a new hood. We called all the manufactures directly. Abt did not help or stand behind the items they sold.

Sorry but Im going to also guess that YOU chose to NOT get ANY extended warranty as well. Meaning that YOU had the appliance for 6 months BEFORE you ever used them. What are you expecting them to do almost TWO YEARS after your purchase when YOU couldn't even pony up for an extended warranty?? Sounds to me that YOU are just too cheap to pay for the repair of YOUR ITEMS!!! Once you walked out the store with the items and 3 months went past, THEY were under ZERO obligation to do ANYTHING for you!! Its NOT about not standing behind a product, it IS about the FACT that YOU broke your toys and chose NOT to protect yourself!!! NOTHING stays "new" forever. Even ONE use can cause an issue. Once you hit the 3 month mark the furniture WAS YOURS!!! Its YOUR responsibility to get them repaired when they break!!! If YOU had a warranty and we both KNOW that one was offered to YOU, YOU wouldn't be posting or going through this. But since YOU DO NOT have a warranty, YOU chose to slander and defame them online. One would THINK that YOU as an adult would understand little things like OWNERSHIP!!! YOU seek to place the responsibility on the business that sold you the items while COMPLETLY absolving YOURSELF of ANY responsibility in the matter!! The business that sold it DID NOT USE the appliances in question....YOU DID!!! During the course of said use it broke down. YOU are attempting to force THEM, the business, into honoring a MANUFACTURERS warranty instead of going THROUGH the manufacturer. Odds are that the manufacturer said something like "Ship it back" and when YOU saw the prices for shipping you said "screw that" and CHOSE to go after the business. A manufacturers warranty ONLY covers the quality of the build of the item and NOT normal wear and tear that YOU put on the item. And THAT is all this is. YOU broke your toys and seek others to bail YOU out!! LIFE doesn't work that way and YOU should be ashamed of your actions. Take responsibility for YOUR actions and YOUR choices.
