AC DELCO BATTERIES ripoff CHESTERFIELD Internet
I HAD MY SECOND FAILURE OF AN (2000 REGAL) AC DELCO BATTERY, LEAKING ACID FROM THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST. I CONTACTED AC DELCO ONLY TO BE TOLD THEIR WAS NO WARRANTY ON THE BATTERY IT WAS ONLY COVERED UNDER THE VEHICLE BUMPER TO BUMPER. THIS WAS A7 YR BATTERY THAT ONLY LASTED 4 YRS. Ac DELCO ALSO DENIED HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE BATTERIES. THE FIRST PLOBLEM I HAD WAS WITH A 1997 BRAVADA, THE SIDE TERMANAL ACTUALLY CAME OFF THE BATTERY AND THE ACID ATE AT SEVERAL BODY PARTS..

Batteries in both vehicles had never been removed and had plenty of slack in the cables. I also have worked on cars for 30 years and was a certified mechanic. I have also worked in a parts store and had never seen this problem until my Bravada. It is obvious that DELCO has a problem and no one wants to own up to it. It also appears there are some loyal know it alls try to take DELCOs side.

I have worked on many cars in the past, and I have seen this problem twice before.
The problem is that your positive battery cable is too short, or is binding in some way. Vibration causes the cable to constantly tug at the battery until it breaks.
Put some slack in that wire, and this will fix your problem.
