In August of 1998 I purchased a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier z24 which came equipped with an AC Delco battery. In June or July of 2000, I experienced a major problem with my vehicle. The positive terminal for my battery had broken off of my battery leaving battery acid all over under the hood.

I dismissed the problem as NOT being the result of poor workmanship and replaced it with another AC Delco battery. Shelling out $85 for the battery and another $100 to get rid of the acid that had spilled over other major components under my hood.

In May of 2002, once again, I experienced the EXACT same problem and began suspecting the quality of AC Delco batteries. This time, the battery acid completely ate away at the positive terminal INCLUDING the copper wiring that runs to the starter.

Now, given that the AC Delco battery that I had in my car had a 6yr warranty I decided to take it back to the original place of purchase and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it. Which totally upset me and forced me to spend another $85 dollars for a new battery. Plus additional repairs that I have not yet obtained, but will include replacing the positive terminal, the battery cable, and cleaning the mess that the battery caused. Now, come to find out I am not the only one that has experienced a problem like this.

If anyone else has experienced a problem like this or if anything has been done about the problems with these batteries that I am not aware of please let me and others know.
