I had a credit card that was closed out and sold to this collection agency (academy collection i.e. academy services).

Since the credit card company had run the 350 balance up to $645 with late fees and intrest I decide to contact academy collections and see it they would bagain a fair settlement offer on the account.

The person I spoke with tried to trick me into thinking they were giving me an outstanding 70% off deal, the price I would pay was still more than 50% of the owed amount ( around $520 or so), I almost took it, because of the way she was wording the offer, but my right mind keep saying thats not correct math!

Finally, I got the lady to agree to a deal of 45% off( around $400) and I was to make 3 payments of about $130 and after the first payment my agreement was to be printed and sent to me ( HUGE MISTAKE)!

Well, about 4 days passed after the got the 1st payment and no agreement letter; 7 days passed and no agreement letter; 10 passed and STILL no LETTER!

Everytime I call they say they put one in the mail, but I have come to the realization that that is a LIE!
So on the 11th day I called again and some RUDE, unprofessional A**hole gets on the line yelling and barking out demands like he was intimidating me!

These people need to be shut down and I hope this help start the process!
They would NOT email, fax or make any serious attempt to get me the agreement and thats Down Right Deceptive!

What ever you do do not give them any bank imformation. If they demand it imform them you are not giving such imformation then hang up . If they call back stay off the phone . Alot of these agencies cannot be trusted. If they already have it go to your bank do a stop payment then close the account and reopen it with new #s. If they call asking for new account imformation refuse to give it
