This company clearly and repeatedly violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. It has been the target of a complaint on behalf of the Federal Trade Commission and was fined $2,250,000.

In an industry notorious for disgusting conduct, Academy shines. They have contacted clients misrepresenting themselves, lying, continuing to contact people at work when asked to stop, contact neighbors and relatives, misrepresenting the nature of who they are and what they do, threatening legal action of where they have no jurisdiction, etc.

Academy has many posts on line and everything about them is negative. If you are contacted by Academy send them a cease and desist letter and note all conversation you have with them.

Cody Milo made a call today and claimed it was an emergency. Pursuant to the FDCPA a collection agency has to identify themselves and to do otherwise is illegal.

Mr. Milo will suffer the consequences of his action as Academy will be sued in this matter and a complaint will be filed by the FTC. There is a right way to collection and a wrong way. Academy takes the later.
