I had a credit card from Premier Bank, but financial hardships came along, and I was not able to make my payments. I received a phone call from Academy Collection Service, a young man who said his name was Will Adams. He was courteous, which was different, and although I did not have the budget to make the payment arrangements he suggested, I agreed because he said he had the credit card company's authorization to inform me that once all three payments had been made, I should call him back and my card would be reinstated. That was the word he used: reinstated. I made all three payments on time, but when I made that call, no one knew his name or anything about my account. Frustrated, I simply hung up. This all began in late February 2008, and it is now July. I tried to call Premier Bank on July 28th, and was told that because the card was charged off - mind you, with a zero balance - that it could not be reinstated. I called Academy, and asked to speak with a supervisor. The man who answered the phone did not answer with his name or title, just hello. When I explained my situation, he said there was nothing I could do about it, that I could reapply for my credit card. I told him that I would be turning the matter over to my attorney and suing their company for fraud! He told me to go ahead!
