Academy Collection Service ripoff fraudulent billing, and Stop trying to get private information from me, STOP calling me. Philadelphia Pennsylvania
I have received many phone calls to my home since months ago. Caller phone #800-220-0605. He (She) told me I had a citi bank creditcard debt balance more than 12,000, I am shocked!
I Know I nerver had such debt. I told to them I am not the person they wanted. BUT, They still KEEP CALL me. And always try to ask my personal information. such as Birthday, SS#, Address. One time I told him little bit. next time he used my new information verify to me. I think it not legitimate way.
For Those call, I spend a lot of time, even mony. check my credit repot, call to citi bank, result is NO balance on my Account. I have virtually ZERO debt but a fairly common name and they keep harrassing me for someone else's debt.
This company is ruthless, they need to be stopped. What business they are doing?

You need to write them a letter, certified mail return receipt requested, advising them that this is not your debt and advising them they are not to contact you by telephone for any reason. They are to contact you by mail only. You then need to file a complaint with the Attorney General's offices in PA and IL (make sure you send a copy of this complaint to the collection agency). Then go to the FTC site and file a complaint there. Good luck.

Immediately send them a cease communications request as provided for in the FDCPA. Go to FTC.GOV to read it if needed.
Send a letter of dispute to them and to all 3 major credit bureaus.
Send ALL correspondence by certified mail, return reciept requested.
Then go to BudHibbs.com and read up on these jerks.
