Acceris Communication charges fraud San Diego California
I have received two collection notices from Acceris Communications for the amounts of $43.22 and $43.87. The first letter was addressed to me and the second to my father, both of us at the same address. Both of these letter have the same claim number.
My family has had long distance service with Primus since 2003 and has not used Acceris Communications. I have been paying Primus as my long distance carrier since that time and do not have two long distance carriers.
On 2/7/05 I contacted Acceris Communications via phone to request proof of service and a copy of the bill. The information I received was vague and unclear.
Acceris insisted that I had been their customer since July 2004 but was switched to their service on January 2005. If I was their customer since July 2004 then the question is how I could switch to their service on January 2005.The company representative has yet to call me back with the recording of someone in my household changing to their service, not surprising as it did not happen. I believe these charges are bogus and I refuse to pay until definitive proof is provided.
I advise anyone receiving bills or collections notices from Acceris Communications to verify the charges before paying.
