Access Behavior Healthcare Dr. DeOrio My son was under Dr. Charlamb's care for depression and will not refill prescription due to office policy. Phymouth, Michigan
My son was being treated for depression at Access Behavior Healthcare. His therapist was Dr. DeOrio and psychiatrist was Dr. Charlamb. After a certain amount of time, Dr. DeOrio decided that my son was no longer need to be seen. Great, right? Wrong. We came to realize that he no longer had any refills of his anti-depressant and he was running out. My wife tried countless times to remedy this situation, to no avail. Their office policy states that if a patient is not in therapy, they cannot be seen by a psychiatrist. I was able to get ahold of Dr. Charlamb's cell phone number. My conversation went like this.
Do you think that your son still needs the medicine? My answer was well your the doctor that prescribed it, what do you think?
Well your son can just stop taking the medicine. My answer was just stop taking an antidepressant, don't think so.
I know what happens to me when I miss a couple of days. Could not imagine how I would feel quiting cold turkey.
Please do not make the mistake that I did with this office. I feel that either Dr. Orio or Dr. Charlamb should have realized about my son's medicine and either refered him to another psychiatrist or weaned him off the medicine under her care!
