AccountCare Disability payments offered by Sears Financial Services - Sears Credit Card Sioux Falls, South Dakota
On December 28, 2011, my wife noticed a fee on her Sears Credit Card payment statement.
I asked her what it was for and she did not know. We immediately called the AccountCare number from the statement to find out that this fee was charged monthly to assist in disability from injuries. The initial discussion dealt with my wife signing up via a phone call. After talking with the representative, AccountCare insisted that my wife had provided a signature on the payment coupon.
However, after some questions, we found out this fee was $21.35 per month and has been charged since June 10, 2010. We disputed these charges and AccountCare started what they call Stage 1 of their investigation.
In early January 2012 we received a copy of the sheet my wife supposedly signed and information pertaining to this service. She immediately noticed it was not her signature at all and the amount of the payment toward her credit card was written in as $1,575.00. Thank you for this information, because it shows that all information on this form is incorrect. Not her signature or anywhere close to a payment made toward the account.
We told AccountCare that this was wrong and they started phase II of their investigation. We were told we would receive a determination from AccountCare in about a month. They did cancel our Accountcare enrollment as of Jan 4, 2012.
However, using MS Excel, the future value of $21.35 per month for 19 months at about 19% Annual interest rate should be $476.41 .
