Sold my League of Legends account after recieving a quote for 50$ on this companies website. The buyer aka James Hoffman/Tyler (may be same person I'm unsure) sent payment via email and then sent another one saying they didn't like my review and it was "full of lies" and told me if I didn't take it down that they would chargeback the money they paid me.
After trying to extort me to take down my honest feedback Mr "James Hoffman" then proceeded to send a plethora of malicious emails saying if I did not take down my review and give him his money back they would permanently ban the account and he would initiate a chargeback. I have reason to believe he would have done this even if I had given the site a good review however the less than perfect review was all the more convenient for him.
Initially Tyler was the one who I was doing business with but after going back and forth with him "James Hoffman" took over (I'm assuming he run's this scam website) with his threatening emails with Tyler sending emails like he was confused who I was talking to. The two apparently share email addresses but the chargeback that was initiated was under "James Hoffman" as the legal card holder. Here is a short clip of his exact words via email that he sent me out of the 20+ emails of extortion.
"I see you have not refunded my payment so I am going to give you a quick heads up what is going to happen. First, we will be reporting your account to Riot as being sold, thus permanently banning it. Second, once I complete this email, I am going to initiate the chargeback with my credit card. American Express does not even review this case so no matter what, you will be losing the money plus a $25 chargeback fee from Paypal. Scamming does not pay off".
I find it ironic that after trying to extort me into manipulating his customer review ratings from a 4 star review to a 5 star he still has the audacity to call me the "scammer". Long story short I sold my account for 50$ (which he initiated a chargeback on) and he reported my account as being sold thus permanently banning it. By doing this he claimed ownership of the account by taking an administrative action (banning it) but is also taking his money back along with the damage done. I might also add that he has all my personal information on file (Photo ID, email address, passwords, recovery passwords on files, and paypal information) so I will need to keep my eyes open in case he commits identity theft since my bank is linked to my paypal. In short this site needs to be shut down and Mr "James Hoffman" and his phoney company is a scam.
