The ONLY way they could have taken money from your checking account was if YOU gave them the routing# and account#.

STOP giving out your bank account info to strangers!!

This is just plain stupid.

According to your post, you recieved some kind of email , most likely a scam / spam email, and you clicked on it and gave your financial info to a stranger.

What did they promise you? Was it a payday loan offer? What was it?

Just use some common sense, and you won't get scammed.

At this point you need to file a dispute with your bank on the unauthorized charge, under Federal Regulation E. The bank will then require you to close your account and re-open a new one.

Then, after that is done, DO NOT in any way give out any of your checking account info to ANYONE you do not know or that you do not have an existing relationship with! This includes your debit card. Just don't do it, and you will be ok.

AND, never in any way click on or open a spam email. That is just plain stupid as well.

Once again, USE SOME COMMON SENSE!!!

Automated Clearing House (ACH) is not even a merchant. It is a method of transferring money among accounts. You obviously have no idea who took the money or why, which makes it impossible for anyone to help you.
