Charter Communications, please get these hack carnival clowns from ACI out of St. Louis. Send their ghetto operation back to broke a*s Michigan where people are used to shoddy everything.

First week of tech training, provided by a guy that barely knows how to turn his laptop on. Not much better that the computers on site to take the training tests on are in horrible condition, bogged down with viruses from gay porn sites, and crash frequently.

Every morning there's a search through a pile to find the least broken ladder to do "ladder safety" training with. Load that piece of crap ladder onto a truck that runs or doesn't have bald tires. It's a good day if you can find a truck that runs AND has good tires, until you discover the doors are falling off of it. ACI techs are supposed to drive these death traps?

1st day of field training ride along, the "traveler" tech I was assigned to work with did two jobs which was somewhat amazing considering how disorganized and cluttered his truck was. I thought I was riding in a dumpster. Then we stopped at a gas station to use the rest room. I waited for this tech to get out of the restroom for over 20 minutes. I go in after he gets out, and the restroom reeks of marijuana smoke.

2nd day of field training ride along, with a different "tech," the first thing he does when we get on the highway is spark up a joint and offer it to me. Nice. Riding in a death trap truck that could break down or wreck out at any moment, and the "tech" to train me is stoned out of his mind. Is every ACI employee a friggin' pothead?

3rd day of field training ride along, another "traveler" come to take jobs from the people who actually live in St. Louis and know the area, and this guy popped more pills than most people take in a year and swerved all over the highway, partially because he was lost, but mostly because he was too Xanaxed out to be behind the wheel. He leaves wall plates literally laying on the floor hanging by the cable lines of a customer's house because he's too lazy to screw them to the wall. He marvels at the end of the day at how many screwdrivers he stole from a customer.

I've worked long hours, between 10 to 14 each day of training, and I haven't learned anything because the techs I was put with were too blown out to even remember what they were doing, or too busy trying to milk the clock diddling with crappy installs.

I have too much pride to work for these scum bags, so I quit before they put me in one of their beat-up trucks with a cracked, broken, ropeless ladder. I only regret not researching their crappy reputation before lowering myself to accept a job from them, especially after quitting a $13 / hour job to get into what I thought was going to be a a bold new career with better pay and benefits.

See that ad that says they're hiring? Ignore it, and find something better.

And Charter, please get these scum bag pothead out-of-town parasites out of St. Louis.

ACI has actually cleaned up their act. They are under new ownership. The branch in Columbus is great. The manager is great. He cares about the employee's. ACI Columbus works for WOW and so far they have been a great partner. WOW expects great work and actually pays good for that work. WOW seems to care about us contractors. I've previously contracted for Time Warner and it was a horrible experience. I would never work for Time Warner again. They treated the contractor's horribly. The only problem we seem to be having in Columbus, is getting people who want to work. ACI is a good company to work for and so is WOW. So if anyone is looking for a job and wants to actually work, go to ACI.com and apply.

Back In Columbus Again

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

ACI is back in Columbus again. I talked to one of their employee's. He said they have been up and running for 3 month's and still do not have a building. They are meeting outside. Are you serious? It is winter for gods sake! It looks like ACI has not changed. Too bad too. I also heard the have a skeleton crew. No supervisor's. Just a manager. And they think they are going to have good number's? When will ACI learn you have to invest money to make money. They don't pay their employee's holiday pay. The employee's have to pay for the trucks they drive and for the uniform's they wear. ACI needs to wake up and smell the coffee. You get what you pay for! I thought about applying with them.  But having to sit outside and not getting paid for holidays? No thanks!  I also need job security. When you can't afford a building, can't pay for at least Thanksgiving and Christmas, and no support staff. You don't have job security. ACI wants their employee's to give, give, give. And what do they get in return? Low pay and no paid holidays. ACI get your act together or you will be pulling out again. Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. That in a nutshell is ACI.
