ACLS Legal Services Harrassment and Scammed, Internet
I received a harassing phone call from a man who sounded like he was from India.
He told me I owed a payday loan but I told him that I had paid it off. He told me they were filing a lawsuit against me and if I didn't pay today they would take me to court and I would owe $8,000 in court costs.
I didn't know what he was talking about. I asked for information on the payday lender and their phone number so I could clear it up and he declined to give it to me.
After much bulllying, I was brought to tears and set up a payment plan because I was confused and didn't know what to think. He also told me to write an apology letter to the payday loan place and told me to write it down. He instructed me to repeat what he said. He said if I couldn't repeat what he said then that I wasn't serious about repaying this loan and I would be taken to court.
I set up a payment plan out of fear. He would not accept an auto-draft from my bank account. He insisted on a debit card or credit card. He wanted a photo Id faxed along with this apology letter.
I called my husband and my husband said it was a scam so I cancelled my debit card. He has all the info about me that I gave to the payday loan place a few months ago. Should I close my checking account? I was to send the apology letter to a man named Mark Brown.

You did the right thing by cancelling the debit card. The next time this a*****e calls tell him you know this is a scam and you contracted a voodoo high priest to put a death hex on him. I would suggest closing the checking account to be on the safe side.
These assholes from Pakistan and India believe in hexes
