ACLU American Civil Liberties Union This organization's goals are to baffle, confuse, and roadblock citizens with legitimate complaints while pretending to support Constitutional rights Nationwide
Having contacted the ACLU myself on several occasions and having heard similar reports from people I know, I have come to the conclusion that the ACLU is a complete fraud being perpetrated against the American people. They pretend to champion the Constitution but their real goal is to destroy it. The way they do this is by baffling people with legitimate complaints who have heard that they can get help from the ACLU. The ACLU acts as a time waster and hopes to reinforce the message that there is nowhere to turn when your Constitutional rights are violated.
Bottom line, their real goal is to make you go away after it is too late to do anything. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THESE BUFFOONS FOR HELP -- if you can't secure legitimate representation then you must defend yourself.

The ACLU is disappointing, with their "limited resources". They don't like the "unsecure" email method. They also don't have an 800 number (at least I couldn't find any). I mailed them everything they needed, and still have not recieved a response. I called their number long distance, and got an automated message saying words to the effect of "Due to our limited resources, we are unable to answer the phone so leave a message". I left a message, and did not get a response. There was a message on my answering machine that said "Hello? Hello?? Hello???". I called the next day but still did not get a response, not even from somebody that does not know how to leave a message. The ACLU should at least say if they are not interested in opening a case.
