I received a letter in the mail stating that I had won a substantial amount of money. In this letter, there were 2 check enclosed, along with a form to fill out for a secured bond.
I was told to call the number on the letter, then fax the form to them, and then I may cash the checks.
Obviously, too good to be true. I do not recall entering any sweepstakes so winning something is pretty suspicious.
We checked online for the company. We found nothing.
We didn't find anything about the secured bond either. We did, find the bank that "issued" the checks, but the phone numbers on the checks were all bogus.
fortunately, we found this site, and someone else experieinced the same thing we had. I'm throwing the checks and letters away.
