I had recently employed the services of Across America moving and storage for a local move within the las angeles area.

This company uses arm twisting tactics to bill fraudulent amounts to their customers. Beware DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

They completed the move in 4.5 hours and charged me for 6 hrs. When I refused to pay some of my things were held up and it was not delivered. I was infact threatened to pay up for 6 hrs or else they will drive away with my belongings.

The two guys were total amatuers who were down right rude and obnoxious. Their work ethic is terrible, they waste time as much as possible leading to time delays. In fact of the 4.5 hrs they took at leaset three, 15 minutes breaks.

when I complained to their company about the behaviour, I got the standard response.

Dishonest Movers

#6Consumer Comment

I am in a similar situation with a moving company called Nationwide Relocation and Damrons Moving in Eastlake, Ohio. I suggest that you report your mover to the Attorney General. I even suggest that you go on the 20/20 or PrimeTime Live websites and let them know about your moving scam. These moving companies and Brokers should not be allowed to get away with this any longer. I suggest to anyone planning a move to rent your own truck and have your friends and family help you load it and unload it. There are too many dishonest moving companies out there. Don't take your chances! I am reminded of my experience every day when I look at our broken things that we worked hard for.

Call the CA Public Utilities Commission

Call the CPUC to report them. They are strict with movers who reside in CA, on moves that started or ended in CA. Since they already promised you a refund, perhaps the CPUC can work on forcing them to pay.

Across america never refunded me the money they promised. The bottom line is never ever choose this company for your moving needs

Please read the full history of this report as that may help you in assessing your mover.

Thanks.

Reimbursement, owner promised a refund IN FULL if she would retract her original complaint.

Is the reimbursement hinged upon your posting of this statement? Meaning, would they still cut you a check if you hadn't written this update? Read the Rip Off Report from yesterday about Right Way Moving Storage, where the owner promised a refund IN FULL if she would retract her original complaint. She couldn't (and wouldn't), so the refund was not given. I hope that you do see your deserved money.

The claims department from the company has agreed to re-imburse me for the 1.5 hrs which was wrongfully charged. They have infact agreed to pay for 2.5 hrs and apologized to me for billing me incorrectly.
