We contacted 'Nationwide Relocation' for a move from San Diego to Gresham and Troutdale, Oregon. This was a two family move. Items to be picked up at our apt. and at a storage unit (which they did not give any paper work stating what they took out of the storage unit in San Diego. Since we had left it was their responsiblity to furnish us with that information. The items in San Diego brought to Oregon, it was to be dropped off at my son and his wife's apartment and a few short miles away my stuff dropped off at my mobile home.

'Nationwide Relocation' misrepresented themselves as a valid moving company. 'Jay' very friendly (that helps to sucker people in) went over the move from where and to. What kind of furniture, how many of each kind? How many boxes? Gave me an amount for downpayment. That we would be in touch, to up date furniture, box amounts, etc. after we finished packing. Which was done, then they required more downpayment cause we reported a more accurate account. Total amount of downpayment was $2500, and some odd cents. It was paid by credit card. By their actions they gave the indications that they would be doing the moving personally. Which apparently was not true for they had 'Across America Moving & Storage' in Van Nuys, CA to do the move. Other names at 'Nationwide Relocation' is Michael Anthony, and Chiara at 'Moving Cost' part of same company.

'Nationwide Relocation' Fort Lauderdale, FL gave the pick up dates of 2/12/06 and 2/13/06 and delivery date would be on 2/15/06 to 2/21/06. Then we decided to change pickup date to 2/11/06 and 2/12/06 and they willing changed the dates, no additional fee was required. Promised delivery date was to be 2/13/06 to 2/19/06.

The head driver verbally promised our item would arrived on 2/15/06 which turned out to be a 'pacification' date.
Repeated calls to 'Across America Moving & Storage' resulted in no information, call backs or they lied about the delivery date and time of arrival. They continued in this fashion, finally on 2/22/06 the said delivery time would be at 7:00am. We waited and waited, called and called. They finally arrived at approx 2pm that afternoon.

Our furniture, couches, chairs and mattress and other item were hanging on the tailgate, in the open elimates of weather, traffic and possible thieft. While inside the closed van quite safe was a stack of folded moving blankets about 6' high by 4'wide, by 5'deep, plus brand new folded flat boxes, for another move. Which would add to the weight of the van.

They did not want to give scale weight reports to us. But finally gave in and I photo copied them. We took photos/videos of the transaction of handing over the cash to head driver. . .Nir Eldar, in the amount of $4491.98, They would not even open the van (which was too small to hold all our things).
To confirm the items inside where ours. They showed no trust in us and we likewise distrussed them very much, cause of their lack customer service, misleading information, etc.

We had carefully kept our items separate so the move would go smooth. Picturing that my son's items would be in one area of the truck and mine in another area. They made things so difficult by mixing up our labled boxes. They had to empty almost the entire stuff out into the parking lot to separate these items. They placed smaller boxes in wardrobe boxes mixing up names and tried to charge for these boxes. We said no. We did order that service.

They didn't pay attention to 'fragile' marks on the boxes, stacking them under other items. They broke so much of our stuff, my son's tv armorie was destroyed beyond repair, which was an inheritance item from his grandmother. Night table with broken corners, chest of drawers broken foot. I have pictures. So many numerous items broke, scarred, boxes with holes, smashed, partly opened that we haven't had a chance to open all the boxes yet, for as of March 5, 2006 we have not recieved the remainder of our items. So we could place unpacked items into their proper places. We had to sleep on floor for nine days. No flatware, items to cook with, can openers, which led to having to eat out many times. Expensive way to eat.

They didn't want me to take pictures of items coming off the truck, that gave the appearance trying to hide things. Didn't want their pictures taken, what where they hiding?

Approximately 7:00pm to 9:00pm or so they finally were ready to bring my items to my mobile home. They would stack stuff outside where it was sprinkling off and on. They wanted to quit, give me the key to back end of the truck and go to a motel. Offered to take them to motel and leave truck here. They refused. (Whose to say that there was only one key to back end? Not likely!)They got angry and where rude, but I didn't relent on the rest of the truck being unloaded. Even though they said they would be back the next day...but they told my son they had a job to pick up the next day far away from here. I realized they would not be back the next day and had them unload the rest of the truck. They where very unhappy to say the least, but cause their past actions, they had become untrust worthy.

My daughter-in-law and I tried to help them with the smaller stuff to make things go faster. I was very tired, I have cardiomyopathy, conjestive heart failure, pacemaker/difibulation, fibromyalgia, depression and have been recently diagnosed with meningioma, two tumors non-malignate, but fairly large. So by helping them we could finish faster and go to bed. They finally finished about 2:30am-3:00am. Then I had to take my daughter-in-law back home, stopped at grocery store so I wouldn't have to go out later. I slept a good portion of the day of the 23rd, that night, and the day of the 24th and that night just to recoop from the stress they cause by being negilate, indifferent to the agreements made, their being rude. And finally their talking in a foreign language (as if sharing secrects about this move) led to much distrust.

Which from what I have read is a justifiable conclusion about these two companies.

Oh, yes we are suppose to recieve the rest of our things on March 6,2006. Maybe? Maybe not? But they will be getting phone calls from us on a repeated bases.

By the way, what I have read it appears that these two companies 'Nationwide Relocation' and 'Across America Moving & Storage' are also called by other names and also reside in other states.

I could go on and on about how we feel we got rip-offed, in so many ways.

Across America Moving & Storage & Nationwide Relocation done absolutely NOTHING

#2Author of original report

Wed, January 24, 2007

To this date January 23, 2007 ACROSS AMERICA MOVING & STORAGE & NATIONWIDE RELOCATION have done absolutely NOTHING to rectify the damage, lies, thief, dishonest business practices and compensate for the hardships, destroyed items, items stolen (lost, call it what ever you want, we didn't get everything we shipped). I was stolen out of almost $8,000 between these two companies for shipping fees.

This does not including the items THEY DESTROYED, STOLEN, OR ALL THE MISC stuff they RUINED, the extra finance charges on the credit card, damage to my credit rating, etc. They owe me at least $30,000 for items I have had to replace and those I need to replace, but can't cause they TOOK MY MONEY UNDER FRAUDULANT MEANS. Also paying for the time spent on trying to get them to settle, and what they did to us mentally. Oh, yes, they did offer a piddling amount that wouldn't even pay for the end table they kept.

I was told they have representatives in every state to represent them in the legal cases filed against them. Gee, does that mean they know in advance that we (the consumer) will not get what we pay for and they are ready to protect themselves?

This is what happens when you put your trust in a business that defies the words trust, morality and good conscience. Does
G R E E D strike a cord with you? And the sad thing is most people have a reasonable expectation that what they offer is what you get. Look at their web sites. . .they offer great things but don't even come close in producing what they offer. Infact what you get is opposite, this is what is called 'deceptive advertisments'. Perhaps another word for this is F R A U D ! Across America Moving & Storage has on their business card what appears to be a big '18-wheeler'. Think that is what your getting? Think again it was nothing but a large van.

There are many people on "Rip-off Report" who have done business with these two companies and their reports read almost the same, just different times and dates.

That is all for now except. . .RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH.
