ACS Legal Collection Scammers Horsham Pennsylvania
I am a private investigator and a private process server. I received a call from someone named Rick Conner of ACS Legal today. Stating I needed to call there legal department at (213) 405-5347 immediately. Instead of calling them back on my office phone I called from my cell phone and spoke with an unknown person that answered ACS Legal. All I could think was they were not even in the country.
I asked for the person that called me and was told by the operator that he needed my name and phone number to direct me to the right person. I told him the person I wanted and he still wanted my name and number. I gave him my office number that he called me on. I asked him what type of company was ACS Legal and he stated they were a company that worked criminal cases. (Here in Texas, if you are a debt collector you cannot misrepresent yourself.)
I was placed on hold for several minutes and was connected to a Frank Jefferson. I told that person I do not know what this is regarding he told me let me pull your information so we can tell you what this is about and place me on hold. He came back to the phone, said hello twice and hung up the phone. I tried to call the company back but kept getting a busy signal. I researched the company and the phone number and came across this site. The company is suppose to be based in Pennsylvania but has offices in Texas. There registered agent is CT Corp in Dallas, TX. Has anyone come across something like this with this company?

I am from Northeastern Ohio and was contacted by a Nick Knight - phone number 310-807-0646 and he left a very threatening message that either me or my retained attorney of record call him at that very moment to prevent something very bad from happening to me. I believe the call originated from 994-043-2829. Does this sound right?
I did have someone call him back and they would not divulge anything but wanted the fax number - he gave him his and has yet to hear anything. He warned me not to divulge anything to him and he believes this is a scam.

Texas,
I was also contacted today by ACS Legal on behalf of Fast Cash. They left messages on my cell phone with numbers to contact regarding a payday loan issue. The phone numbers and contact information were the same that were given to you (Frank Jefferson). They stated that I owed them money for a payday loan that I never paid back (which I never got to begin with). They also stated that I was in the process of being criminally prosecuted (3 counts) for this. They asked for my attorney information and proceeded to give me all of my personal information, including my bank information. I contacted my bank, and there is no record of any payday loans with my financial institution. I'm not sure how they got ahold of all of my personal information, but they had it all. Apparently there are numerous complaints against these people on this site. Many of them have contacted the federal trade commision to file a complaint. (www.ftc.gov)
