Complaint Review: ACS LEGAL

For quite sometime, I have received telephone calls from phone number 1(866)449-7323.  According to Google, this number is associated with ACS Legal Group that has to do with a previous pay day loan collection.

While it wouldn't be a bit of a surprise that many old uncollect pay day loans have been transferred to a boiler room collection center, the truth of the matter is many states have put the clamps on pay day loans altogether.  Many of the places that you recieved the loan from may find themselves in a postion of not being too aggressive when it comes to collecting on them for fear of losing their license.   In my case, this payday loan that they are collecting on was written back in 2008 when I was living in another state making collection even more difficult for the company to legally puirsue.

The bottom line is that unless  ACS Legal doesn't have the actual payday loan contract in writing, their legal efforts are futile.  With enterprise resource planning systems and section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxlyey Act, many corporations arent going to be willing to surrender paperwork to a third party due to the responsibilty and accountability that comes with it.

The only thing that can be done with ACS is that if you get too many phone calls from them in a day or week, that can be reported to the consumer section of the state Attorney General's office under the consumer protection program as harassment.
