Action Auger Canada Inc "The Gentlemen Plumbers" are in fact 3x more expensive than the average plumbers. They try to excuse their prices because of their so called "service". Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" charges every client for every call 49.95 just to come out, calling this a "dispatch & travel" fee. They tell you give you options for a solution and then let you know how much each option will be BEFORE they get started on the work right? Sounds all good right? Actually, Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" uses this tactic so they can get their foot in your door, since you already have to pay the 49.95 regardless if you get the work done or not, you don't really want to say no to the price because the plumber is already at your door to fix you up. The truth is, Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" are so ridiculously overpriced that they just hope you aren't aware of it. They also offer a senior discount of a whopping 5%! 5%?! That is definitely a joke! Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" claims to offer guaranteed quality service to back up their arm and a leg of prices, but on average they get about 5 complaints a day! Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" offer they're senior discount because usually seniors are the easiest to rip off. They come in all dressed up and polite, they put on this show, only to charge them so much money that the discount isn't even accounted for! The price to install a toilet usually varies from $80-$130 but Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" charges anywhere from $200-$300 dollars. Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" is out to get your money! Beware! Don't be fooled by the smiley faces and the attire or girls that answer your call. They claim to have 24/7 service but rarely ever come out at night! Action Auger "The Gentlemen Plumbers" is the last place you should ever get a plumbing job done!

my mom called the Gentlemen Plumbers and asked them to do a job to change a handle outside our house and was leaking.

When the plumber came, he changed the handle and used sticky tape and said it would work. He said there would be a 1 year warranty.

My mom can't take the sticky tape off, so we called the Gentlemen Plumbers, and they did not admit there was a warranty even though the job had a 1 year warranty with it and we did it 4 months ago. They said they would have to charge us if we were to make them take the sticky tape off. They also said they didn't record it. They blamed us for doing something. Basically insulting. They were very bad after service.

I would have to tell all people residing in the Action Auger/ Gentlemen Plumbers regional area to NOT USE THEM. Don't be fooled by all those happy faces and those magnets you can use for your fridge with all those math stuff. Well, I won't use Action Auger again, I don't want to remember how my mom and I called them to work for us. This is the worst service I have seen in my lifetime.

 The 5cm sticky tape to replace the handle charged us 66 dollars!!!!! AN ABSOLUTE RIPOFF! In total it was 121.74. By far, Gentlemen Plumbers is a money ripoff company and a headache by far. Good-bye Action Auger/ Gentlemen Plumbers.

There's no mistake or confusion about whether it was Action Auger or not. As I said in my Oct 27th post they took advantage of an 89 year old man. When I called in to ask why they gouged him so bad on parts she kept saying oh that's impossible..we have exact pricing.
Whatever..we'll never use you again....but I'm sure there's more seniors around for you.

At Action Auger, we provide full service with 100% satisfaction guaranteed.   How the service call works is the following:  after the client schedules a service call, Action Auger calls the client 15-30 minutes before the appointment to insure the client will be home.  Upon arrival to the home, the technician visually assess and diagnosis the issue at hand.  He then gives the client an exact price to fix the problem, and then with client approval and signature agreeing to the service and amount, completes the work right then and there. 

Action Auger values our senior clientele.  We use a Straight Forward Pricing Guide to ensure that our clients are all treated equally and fairly no matter age or circumstance.   All of our pricing is shown to our clients before any work is completed for the specific reason to avoid any misunderstandings or miscommunications.   Action Auger does not charge extra for parts or labor, nor do we charge over-time or double time.  In fact, we give one straight forward price that is all inclusive - we do not break down parts, labor or service charges.  Maybe John has Action Auger confused with another company? 

Again, we strive for 100% satisfaction for each client.  If a there are questions or concerns, we are always available to discuss them.

I have no problem with their 49.95 service call fee...but my 89 year old dad had Auction Auger come to replace a bathroom sink and faucets. I think they took huge advantage of an old man.

I looked at his bill and they charged him $710 just for the sink, and $501 for the faucet. This is for parts only...labour and materials were on top of this.
The sink is a basic low line sink you can buy at Totem for $75...same with the faucet.
I believe they took advantage of him. They may have good service but that doesn't give them the right to rape people.

At Action Auger, we pride our self with giving the best customer service available.  We are competitive in the market with our pricing.  As you find in everything, you get what you pay for.  We are not the cheapest, but neither are we the most expensive, but we do give the best value for what we charge.   There are many ways to cut corners in the plumbing service industry, as we believe people want quality service (something that I think a lot of companies have forgotten about these days) without cutting corners so that is what we strive to provide!

One way we strive to provide that service is by drug testing and doing criminal background checks on all of our employees.  Unfortunately, the world we live in has a huge problem with drugs and crime and the plumbing industry is no exception to this.  I want to make sure that any technician I send out on one of my trucks, into our clients homes, I would have no problem sending into my own home (I have a wife and three small children) to complete work.  We are one of the only companies that advertise being drug-free and having a criminal background check on each employee.  I wonder why this is?  Or, even a better question, are you willing to take the chance with your family?  Im not.

Another way that we strive to give the best service is by offering our true 24/7 service.  Many companies advertise they are 24/7, but are they really?  If you were to call all the companies that advertise 24/7 service at 2:00 am, very few of them even answer the phone.  At Action Auger, we answer the phone by a real live person 24 hours a day and not just by an answering service that says someone will call them back, but by an actual Action Auger employee who can actually help you.

The plumbing industry is constantly changing with new and better ways to do things.  To become a journeyman plumber is a four year program, but even after that, there is still so much to learn.  I believe that one person could not possible learn all there is to learn in the plumbing trade.  One thing we do over and above the four year program where a lot of plumbers stop is we train our guys virtually every morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am on things pertaining to our industry.  This makes a great knowledgeable technician when they come out to your home that is able to fix and do a great job of taking care of your problem in a quick and effective way. 

One of the big worries I have when the consumer picks a company solely off price, is what is that company missing to be that cheap?  One of the ways to drive price down that is easy to hide is not having proper insurance or no insurance at all.  Very few people ever ask to see a companys insurance; they just take it for granted that everyone has it.  Unfortunately, not everyone does have it.  Who do you think pays for a flood from poor work a plumber did with no insurance?  Probably, not that plumber.  He just changes company names and starts up again under a new name, leaving you holding the bill.

These are just a few things we do to give the best customer service and work for our clients.  I could go on all day, but I wont bore you.  At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.  What are you willing to leave out if you solely go by price?

I am proud to say that we give a 5% seniors discount those that have been on this earth a substantial period of time to deserve it!  I am also proud to say that we try to make a modest profit each year and provide an income for our employees and their families.  I dont think that profit is a bad word and our goal is 10% profitability on jobs.  When we go out and do a $200 job, we hopefully take 10% of that which is $20.  I dont think $20 is too much to ask for when we provide quality service after all costs are paid.  When we have the privilege to do work for a senior, we give them half of our profit off which is a 5% discount, which I believe is fair.  I think in the world today, we hear of big corporations like banks making billions in profits and we group all companies together.  The truth is, we are families, like yours, trying to provide and make an honest living.

Every day at Action Auger, we strive to give the best customer service.  Unfortunately, we are only human and make mistakes.  We do, however, promise and give 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed.  We started Action Auger less than nine years ago and in that short time have grown to be one of the largest residential service plumbing companies in the country.  I believe it is because now a days people have a hard time finding good old fashioned customer service.  So, when they find it, they like it and tell their friends and family about it.  Our biggest area of business is repeat clients and client referrals.   When someone is unhappy with our service, I wish they would give us a call and put our 100% customer satisfaction guarantee to the test.
