Active Periodicals constantly calls me at the most inopportune times (when I'm in class, when I'm at work, AND when I'm sleeping) asking me for payment. I've begun screening ALL of my phone calls.

I've tried numerous times to cancel my subscriptions. When they called me before and I actually answered, I tried for over 10 minutes asking them to cancel it. They said that it was out of their hands because they promised XX magazine publisher that they have sold XX number of magazines to XX person for XX number of years.

My credit card was coincidentally cancelled due to problems that the bank had, so I thought I was okay now. I thought I didn't need to pay anything because they wouldn't be able to charge that card number anymore. BUT I thought wrong. A couple of days later, they sent me a notice in the mail with a payment slip saying I owe $39.90 every month for the next 24 months, and to either send in a check or send them my credit card number.

I don't know how else to stop these people from bothering me constantly. I think the best thing to do is to call your credit card company and tell them to stop allowing Active Periodicals to charge your card. If it doesn't work, then tell them you have a complaint about the company and file a dispute against the company.

If anyone else figures out a better way to go about it, please let me (as well as everyone else that has been scammed by this company) know. Thanks!
