I had a call to come to me one afternoon with a very persistant Telemarketer from Active Periodicals. Needless the word of NO doesn't appear in the vocabulary, I can't tell you how many times I said no I do not want your services. Finally, I agreed to only ONE magazine and still haven't received that. I called back a few weeks later and told them to cancel my account. I was told that I could cancel my account b/c I was still within my 30day period and that my card would not be charged any further. I also requested for the money that they had already taken out from my card which was the wrong amount of course, 58.28. I also contacted my credit card company and disputed the amount and told them to put a block agnist them charging my card. Well, that was 2 months ago. I got my money back on my card yesterday 04/03 and today 04/04 it was taken back and they (Active Periodicals) took it back out.
The person that I spoke with on the phone was very rude and told me that I could not cancel my account with them b/c I was in a BINDING CONTRACT. People let me tell you, it is not binding in the STATE OF GEORGIA unless it is written and my signature is on it. I told that woman that and she told me that she didn't have any problems canceling my account once she heard the verification of when the transaction took place. She said that she would call me the next day and let me know.
I am already in the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Comission about their lies and how they sell your identity to other people with your card number. About the only way that you can stop these people is to change your account numbers and when they call you just hang up the phone. Immediately contact you Federal Trade Comission and since they are located in Florida contact the Better Business Bureau in Florida also and let them know what kind of people they are.

After reading the same night that I filed my report, there was a phone number on here for Mr. Orr, one of the owners, and I contacted him late that night and told him my situation. He told me that he would have one of his managers to contact me first thing in the morning.
Well, that following morning, I received a phone call from Kristen and she told me that Mr. Orr had contacted them and asked them to give me a call. Well, after having a very polite and nice conversation with her. My account is now cancelled and my money was refunded to me.
Thank you Mr. Orr for your promptness to canceling my account with your company. Thank you Kristen for making sure that I received my refund and canceling my account and for not being rude like other people who work there are.

Well, after reading Bob's information and I do have to say "WAY TO GO!" I was ver motivated to contact Mr. Orr and explained my situation to him and that I would appreciate him helping me to resolve this matter with his company and I also explained to him that I am a single mother of two small children and that I do not want their magizines. Like Bob's wife I just wanted one for my kids. The love DISNEY and I thought that one magaizne wouldn't be all that bad to pay for each month but they lied to me and over charged me. Well, Mr. Orr stated that he would have his manager to contact me first thing in the morning.
Let's see what the morning brings.
