For a $25 test kit and $250 lab fee, this test claims to determine the gender of your baby with 99.9% as early as 7 weeks into the pregnancy using a few drops of blood. They also claim a 200% guarantee.

I took the test in July and was told I was having a girl. At my ultrasound in September it was very clear I am carrying a boy. I contacted Acu-Gen Biolabs via the website and never got a reply. When I called several days later the person I spoke with was very curt and told me to mail in a birth certificate after the baby was born for a refund and hung up on me.

I had another ultrasound in October - a 3D one that clearly showed my baby boy. I e-mailed them again and included ultrasound pictures. They claim to have retested my blood sample with "extra attention" and still insist that I'm having a girl.

Most of the e-mails I have received from them are prepared form letters that do nothing to answer my questions or concerns.

I also contacted Pregnancystore.com - the company that sells the test kits. They give quote some study about first trimester ultrasounds (before 12 weeks) only being 80-90% accurate, so Acu-Gen's test must be right and my sonograms wrong. I showed them three studies I found showing second trimester ultrasound accuracy rates all in the mid to high 90's, yet they insist what we're seeing is not a boy.

A woman from Pregancystore.com went as far as to suggest that this lab is so accurate that I need to consider the fact that my baby has some kind of genetic birth defect.

The customer service from these two places is horrible and I think the test is a scam.
