In late February 2009, I purchased Adam Ginsbergs 'Secrets of an Auction Millionaire' "package" after a very well orchestrated presentation in Orlando Florida at a Rich Dad / Poor Dad seminar, where different solutions are offered. (I will state here that I made a few other purchases at this event, as well as from Rich Dad itself before, which I have had NO problems with.)

I spent a month working with this offering (really half a month since it took the other half for them to get it working). What I purchased was to include a 3 day training weekend however none was made available to me. It took a week for them to get to me, after I signed up, and another 10 days for the software to work properly due to some bugs in the way I was initally setup.

After it was functional, the software also proved to be quite unimpressive, basically offering an interface to a drop shipper, and a html generator for you to cut and paste into your ebay, craiglist, overstock.com or other reseller locations.

The software is offered on the web for $1, with monthly charges to follow. It was rather a shock to have laid out nearly $2000 and then see this - hence it was clear that my 'investment' was not really this software. I received 5 email video's admittedly after they turned on the software for me, showing one how to use the software, however these same emails are made available for the person paying $1.

In summary, the software appears to be useful perhaps (with a bit more work) but at present is very 'skinny' in what it does (the drop shipper offers similar if not as fancy interfaces to ebay and other selling sites.) It also creates many SQL errors (sign that it is still in beta mode) if you don't do things exactly right. People responding to problem tickets seem trained to never acknowledge a software problem in the trouble ticket itself, although they may do so on the phone.

if I was to use it, I would not think paying $14-$20 a month to host (which is what it costs after the first month) is a way I would want to go, in that seems a lot for 'hosting of photos and html' which is basically what it is.

My problem was that I did NOT get the value I paid for up front, (stated value $4,997) in that there was no 3 day workshop provided. I am told that they may offer one someday in my area in the next 24 months - that is not what I paid for.

I have notified my credit card, and Rich Dad, and done so in writing as well. As expected, Adam Ginsbergs office response (staff person "Sara") is that they don't owe me anything since I didn't quit within 3 days of signing. (Forgetting the fact that what they sold me didn't even get activated for weeks after signing, nor has any of the promised training even been scheduled, let alone taken).

I informed her that a contract is between both sides, and no software was received, nothing is to be returned, and no 3 day workshop was given or taken AND that the programs did NOT work as advertised. I stated that if that is the position of her company (she was not willing to let me talk to anyone else) then I would have to take this to the public airways (e.g. Ripoffreport.com, etc.). I did not wish to have to post this complaint here but it appears that this company is more hype and does NOT stand behind what they are offering. BUYER BEWARE.

I also was ripped off & had exactly the same experience

The poster here is accurate in that his experience is identical to mine. My seminar was 11/09/06 in Aurora, Colorado.

The online software for "My Auction Generator" was full of bugs, almost innoperable, and just the same they even said the software wasnt up and running but tick tock tick tock, the clock was running out for me to get my refund then finally when I realized the software was crap it was too late, it took weeks just to even get the crappy software up and running, I worked with staff then finally realized that product warehouse prices listed as my purchase price were identicle to the selling prices on ebay with zero profit potetial.

I too got the cold shoulder when asked for a refund when I fully explained the software was slow, clumsy and then there was no profit potential, I worked with staff who even told me which items to sell as top sellers and to mark them up even if they are higher priced than competing products and he said do multiple listings of the same products, none sold and I was stuck with some $45 in ebay fees, I simply could not keep going into the hole. What this guy is talking about here that most of the items in the $5000 collection can be found individually and seperately online but one in particular is "My Auction Generator".

At the time "My Auction Generator" was owned or controlled by a seperate entity. today if you go to http://MyAuctionGenerator.com it rolls over to Adam Ginsberg's other tools which means he either took control over the company or the company failed and he purchased the domain name but check this out, go to an archive site and type in MyAuctionGenerator.com there you will see what I discovered. It was the main entrance for "My Auction Generator" and not an Adam Ginsberg product but a warehouse that Adam Ginsberg was an affilliate to, and I was sick to my stomach to realize and you can see it for yourself I could have gone into that program in the front door for a free 30 day trial as opposed to costing me $5000

I too when posting my experience and was confronted by Adam Ginsberg staff with not being truthful or lying and I assure you my experience is what I say it was, they throw off liability by saying they do not take responsibility for a 3rd party entity referring to the people who conduct the seminars when in my case Adam Ginsberg did make an appearence on the day of the one day free seminar, I used Adam Ginsberg's staff for training and one employee claimed that Adam does not get money from these people, that's a flat out lie, Adam wouldnt show up for free or use his phone lines for free, Adam has to get a cut, it is the staff who is trained to say everybody is a liar or not truthful and it would seem difficult to prove in a court unless a person video taped the entire seminar and recorded every phone conversation, that's what a person needs for court evidence although these days it's ileagal to record people without written consent. The poster here is correct, I'm not sure about the $1 software but you can see for yourself from the archive above that the exact same company could have accessed for a free 30 day trial.

I still have my contract and here is what you sign in part, it's too long for me to type all of it

Law and arbitration: "The Parties waive trial by court or jury". "No party may bring or become a member of a class action against another". "No party shall award attorneys fees or costs". and if a person shall go to court through arbitration then it must be done in a court in Orlando FL so you actually waive your right to a trial by jury because they already know how a jury of your peers would vote. This gets really complicated, It says you must use a lawyer of 10yrs or more experience or a retired judge, you must select an arbitrator then send a written notice to the respondant which would be Adam Ginsberg, probably not him but a represenetive. The respondant who is Adam has 20 days from the reciept of the notice to select a second arbitrator then he must send the suing person (claimant) in writing that he has done so, then those two arbitrators will select a 3rd arbitrator of their choice, man this already sounds like a disaster, no way can you get a fair hearing with such a process. But that's what you agree to when you sign the contract and is all that expense & travel time worth the $5000? Absolutly not.

As you have read here that the staff degrades whatever you say negatively about the company, they scour the internet constantly to put out the fires. It takes a tremendouse amount of energy for a past student to back track over events, old online software, online deals etc few people have the energy or the time to locate or back track events and in here the staff boasts they have the 3 day refund guarantee but as he said here they stall getting you up and running because they know once you actually get into ceartain software that you will cancel, furthermore there is or was an extended warranty that has tricky wording. One guarantee that was given me is posted on my website.

It says: "Student is guaranteed the right to withdraw from the training program without penalty by the end of the day one of the scheduled training class or within 14 days from the enrollment date"

Sounds good so far but then it reads: "Whichever occurs first", well, which would occur first? In my case I sighned up & the next day was training so it would seem that day one would occur first canceling out my 14 day cancelation privalige, oh but there is more:

There is actually a one yr guarantee:

"If student successfully launches 3 ebay auctions each and every month for 12 consecutive months and do not have sales equal to the tuition paid AGI will refund student upon reciept of the following: Screenshots of each 36 succesfully launched auctions and any other documents requested by AGI"

I wonder what other documents might be requested and what if you cannot provide these other unknown documents? I see a very squirmy policy designed to squirm out of the contract at any given moment. But here was my concern after I was refused a refund. I have to launch 36 auctions over a year specifically through Adam Ginsberg's buggy, un reliable software, using a warehouse with over priced items with zero profit potential which means I will not profit but actually be paying ebay fees when I am unemployed with maxed out credit cards with a tricky guarantee and a company I had lost complete faith in due to their tricky ways, I was not willing to go out on the limb any further than I already did, I needed to find a real job and not some fantasy sit at home making money lie, because I needed to pay the mortgage and this syatem was incapable of putting money into my pockets but much better at extracting money from me

these are my personal first hand experiences and likely staff will reply with some type of wording in an attept to discredit me as they do to everybody with a legitamate complaint.

I created a website where I posted a copy of my contract and some other stuff just to prove I did sign up for the course, I was told by Ginsberg staff that my site is ileagal and it has been sent over for review by the legal dept so what you have here is like some sort of communist style harrassment to shut people up who tell of there experiences which is supposed to be allowed by the 1st amendment but I don't think the 1st amendment exists anymore, the corporate elite have shot the constitution so full of holes it's not the constitution anymore but some kind of corporate policy created by pirates who have and are raping and pillaging the public and forget about justice from the courts as most of the judges are paid off by the corporations, congress doesnt even read most of the bills that pass through their hands. Truly we are witnessing the collapse of America for what it was intended to be and for what it was in only a short period of time.

The website is here: (((Redacted)))

Copy the above site quick for your records as it might be pulled down by those who try to hide these facts.

Make up your own mind

William makes lots of claims yet when presenting his case in front of a judge for the state of California, the judge decided that his claims were not the facts of the case.

His comments simply aren't accurate - if they were, the court would have agreed with him.

He's angry and bitter - and, in fact post blatant lies.  He is pointing blame where it doesn't belong.

We agree buyer's should beware.  We also agree in honesty.  And we don't appreciate when someone simply makes comments that are false.

As previously stated - in a court of law, the State of California ruled in favor of Mr. Ginsberg stating that the information as stated and agreed to was in fact accurate and truthful.

What is the real truth?

#6UPDATE Employee

Wed, July 29, 2009

William posted a commentary that he stated was "100% truth". Being that I am familiar with his purchase, I posted a rebuttal with the real facts. Of course, to make sure that he let the public know the "truth", William posted a response to my rebuttal where he stated the following:

"Buyers should definitely beware of what they buy. However ALL of these comments are accurate. BUYER BEWARE with anything from this company."

We definitely agree that buyers should always know what they are buying - however his statement that "all comments are accurate" is in fact NOT true.

How can I be sure? Well, the first thought as you read this is since I am an employee of the company I must be paid to say this stuff...Well, in fact here how I can clearly state that Williams comments are NOT true.

William decided that the best solution was to file with small claims court. He met with a judge and Mr. Ginsberg to present his case. After making his claim, as outlined in this report, it was Mr. Ginsberg's turn to present the information, the signed documents, the usage logs and all relevant info to the judge. It was this exact information presented as I previously stated in my follow up to William's claims.

The verdict? The State of California ruled in favor of Mr. Ginsberg stating that the information as stated and agreed to was in fact accurate and truthful.

William might believe everything he said - I doubt he would deliberately make this up simply to post false comments or waste his time in court - but at the end of the day it was the State of California that made the ultimate decision as to who was telling the truth...and as such with the court ruling IN FAVOR for Mr. Ginsberg it should be obvious that William's comments were, in fact, not an accurate representation of the situation in question.

rebuttal to the rebuttal - BUYER BEWARE

1- Adam Ginsberg does NOT stand behind what they sell. They hide behind other companies that they sell through, give false claims as to their being experts in the field of internet marketing and sell very 'thin' software. When challenged on any of the above they keep your money and pretend they are being falsely charged. AVOID this modern day snake oil salesman.

2 - Adam Ginsberg hides behind a '3 day rescind' contract clause while not even sending you your id/logon for 5 days (making any viewing what you got not part of any decision to rescind).

3 - Adam Ginsberg proudly attracks users to his being the expert in what you want to learn (ie. successfully marketing on the internet) by professing how he had sold over $20 Million in pool tables in 5 years on ebay. He conveniently leaves out that because hundreds of customers where left with either non-delivered or shody merchandise by this 'expert' period in his life (research ebay reseller 'pegasusbilliards' or 'zbilliards'), that eBay he is marketing his being an 'expert' on false premises. eBay alledgedly removed his ability to sell on eBay after so many negatives showed up. For him to leave so many internet buyers 'unfulfilled' and then have the gall to market himself as 'an expert on internet marketing' shows that this company is simply continuing to do the same, only through different tactics.

4 - When a company attracts your 'investment' by referring themselves as experts and bragging on where they made their money as the very area they have a terrible reputation in ... well, this is simply fraud at its easiest definition. If Adam Ginsberg was selling something totally new, perhaps he could say otherwise. But he left hundreds of people out of thousands of dollars in his 'marketing on the internet' and is alledgely not now allowed to do so by eBay and perhaps others. To now profess to being the 'expert' on how to do this is nothing short of lying, misrepresentation and fraud.

5 - With a few weeks of testing of the software, it was easy to see how 'basic' it was. It would not work for over 10 days when I first got it, as they set up my account wrong. You actually never really recieve any software, just a logon id/password to use it. When it did work, I had multiple occurances of situations where SQL errors were produced. Yes, you can 'work around' these errors, but in no other world would one call 'SQL' database errors 'user errors' except this organization. They apparently have their staff trained to NEVER admit they have any bugs.

6 - In no case did this company 'never hear back from me' as from the start, after discovering the fraud of this organization, and the non-performance (or poor performance) of this software, and wanting a refund, I stated from the beginning that I simply wanted a refund.

7 - When I asked for my refund, there were no training classes scheduled for Southern California. Magically one was set up. My statement that there was no training offered was confirmed with his office when I made it. My reason for asking for a refund is not based on the lack of training but rather on the fraudulent representation of the sale and the poor performance of the product. I am not interested at this point in taking a class with this organization to learn anything. I simply want a rehttp://www.ripoffreport.com/ads/Cash4GoldPages.htmfund.

8 - rebuttal states: "to demand a refund from an organization that never initiated the charge in the first place just doesn't make sense." This company markets through other companies, using the other's credit card process and gives them some sort of percentage of the sale. They then claim that they didn't have any transaction with the buyer (but did have a contract). This is a shell game that they use to avoid being responsive to dissatisfied users. The fraud is NOT being performed by the marketing companies that Adam Ginsberg's company is 'selling through', rather the reputations of these marketing companies are being used to hide behind.

Buyers should definitely beware of what they buy. However ALL of these comments are accurate. BUYER BEWARE with anything from this company.

Simply Not True

#6UPDATE Employee

Fri, April 10, 2009

This program comes with a 2 part guarantee. First, a 3 day return as established in writing prior to purchase AND a 12 month performance DOUBLE YOUR MONEY BACK guarantee. We stand 100% behind everything we sell.

Second, this program is not available for sale on the Internet. The software is not available in it's deluxe format online. The software in reference is a simple, basic version found online. The program includes lifetime support, access to a private members area and access to UNLIMITED live trainings (3 day events) for 2 years.

William states that there's no training in his area. He lives in San Diego. Yes, there's a live event in Los Angeles in less than 2 weeks from this date. He has been notified of this event on several occasions.

He states the software is available online - it's not.

He states that the purchase he made for $2,000 can be purchase online for $1 - it can't.

This customer not only demanded, but threatened our organization that we must offer him a refund. Yet, we never charged this customer in the first place. His purchase was made at a live seminar in which Adam Ginsberg was one of many speakers. A refund simply can't be issued for a purchase - if that purchase is made by a third party organization. It's like buying a burger from McDonalds and demanding Burger King issue a refund.

He says no software was received yet he also stated various reasons why it didn't work. Clearly he made an attempt to use it - therefore in fact it was received.

We stand behind every purchase. Of course, when someone doesn't get what they want, even if hey don't deserve it, they make false claims in an effort to point the blame to other people.

We work extremely hard to resolve any issue - if any arrises. But to say that software wasn't delivered (that was), to say that a $2000 purchase is the same as a $1 online purchase, to say defiantly that no live event is planned when one is scheduled in less than two weeks...is simply unfair. And further, to demand a refund from an organization that never initiated the charge in the first place just doesn't make sense.

We have communicated this directly to this person - and of course, since have not heard back. So to say that he "didn't wish to post this complaint" is difficult to be believed. If a customer doesn't respond to our outreach to discuss and hopefully resolve any misunderstanding it makes it difficult to fix that misunderstanding.

http://adamginsberg.com

This is where the training dates for 2009 are posted. This report was created on 3/31 by this person. His communication requesting resolution (prior to making comments like this) was sent on 4/7. Take a look at http://adamginsberg.com - look at the training dates and you'll see a training scheduled in Los Angeles for April 17th. How can he possibly state, with integrity, that there is "no 3 day training available Los Angeles California".

Buyers should always beware in anything they purchase. However, this comment, filled with false accusations and statements should not be considered a reflection on how this company deals with students or operates its business.
