In March 2009, Adam Goodkin, publisher of Simply the Best magazine, received stolen advertisements directly from Howard Needle, publisher of Cravings Palm Beach magazine.

On May 5, Goodkin was alerted by email that he had published advertisements that were created by Farnsworth Associates, under contract, solely for use in Cravings. Needle never paid for the Work and the magazine folded.

As complaints were pouring in, Needle negotiated with Goodkin to publish the ads in Simply The Best as a way to get out of paying back Cravings advertisers for monies received towards the next issue.

Seeing an opportunity in the ruin of Cravings, Goodkin published the ads for profit.

Farnsworth Associates forwarded an invoice to Good Press Publishing for the stolen, published Work.

FA also requested Goodkin furnish copies of Insertion Orders or other documentation to prove that he had received proper permissions to print the ads.

His subsequent email on May 6 stated that he received the ads from "some guy named Jorge" and would "change the ads to satisfy the matter". Does this publisher make a habit of printing ads of unknown origin?

Next, Goodkin claimed he published the ads *free* to help the advertisers who were jilted by Cravings- a complete lie. One of the advertisers in question had to sign an annual contract at the cost of $7,000.

Again, FA requested clarification on how Good Press Publishing came to possess the copyrighted ads.

No insight or supporting documents were ever provided; instead, Goodkin quickly offered the name and contact information for his wife lawyer who practices family law who stated she would accept service of process and had copies of all the documents FA requested.

Why not provide FA with copies or written clarification directly? Why incite a litigious solution to a question so easily answered: Did you receive the Work from Howard Needle?

Goodkin would not answer the question factually.

As of May 28, Adam Goodkin has not provided remedies for the Work he published without permission nor a written account of how he came to possess the advertisements.

Moreover, in January 2009, Goodkin offered employment to Needle, a convicted felon, as a sales consultant; Needle declined the offer at the last minute after deciding to try and save Cravings magazine.

If Goodkin's interests include associating with dangerous convicted felons like Howard Needle, I would take caution before engaging in business with him or Good Press Publishing/Simply The Best magazine.
