Adams County Department of Child Services Caseworkers Lied, manipulated the children. False allegations, stopped contact with no court order, sloppy work, not visiting the kids for weeks at a time Denver Colorado
We became involved with CPS in September of 2013. Our daughter had divorced her abusive ex husband and for the most part her four boys lived with us for the three years prior. One of them almost his whole life. Once CPS became involved we had different agencies in our home two to three times a week each time interviewing the boys. They were interviewed at school, all the time stating how much they loved living with grandma and grandpa, how they felt safe and warm. How we took care of them, not like their mom and dad.
In October of 2013 CPS removed the children from our care and completelyt destryoed seven lives. In December we were sent a letter from CPS stating that they had dropped their investigation into me for neglect and against my husband for allowing an injurious enviroment.
Between October and January two of the boys were treated, one was hospitalized. If February they charged my husband for one of these incidents even though they had been under the surpervison of CPS.
We have been lied to, told court orders exist that prevents us from even talkiing to the boys, which after looking at the file is completely untrue. We have sat in the courtroom and listened to the case worker and guardian ad litum both indicated that they had only visited the boys once in the preceding month. They have done nothing to restore the boys to their former lives, to assist the parents or ourselves, I believe "engage" is the term ADCO uses on its website to return the boys to the life they had before.
Like many components of the Adams County Government the fuedal lord systems seems to be in place. The attitude that they can do or manipulate any situation to their liking. If questions are asked your threatened with jail time, investigation and harassment. The quality paving scandal, the county assesors favoritism, and child protective services complete misguided and incomipetent exercise of their duty for the citizens of the county.
We are still involved in clearing our name, and will pursue legal action against the county, the caseworkers and any other agency that failed to uphold it's solemn promise to serve and protect unbiasedly and without discrimination.

Okay first of all CPS does not just all of the sudden out of the blue decide to just "pick" on familes, they have to have a reason. So what was the incident that caused them to get involved with you in September of 2013?
Then in October they took the kids away after an "injurous" accident..so exactly what happened?
You then talk about how between October and January two of the boys were treated. Okay treated for what? The common cold? Stepping on a nail? A broken leg? You also say that one was bad enough to be hositalized..again for what?
You say that your husband was charged with one of the injuries(?) yet the kid was under the Supervision of CPS. Okay so if you are saying that CPS was there when the injury happened and your husband was no where even close, since this happened in Feburary he must have had at least one court date. So what did the judge say when your husband provided proof that he wasn't even there? Or is there more to the "injury" and charges that you are just deciding to leave out?
One other thing you have failed to mention, what about the Mother? In your entire report you only talk about you. The only thing you mention is after the first sentence is "They have done nothing to restore the boys to their former lives, to assist the parents or ourselves,"
So isn't 1/2 of the "parents" abusive and didn't she divorce him. Didn't the kids say that they liked grandma and grandpa better than how mom and dad treated them? Is she even in the picture anymore?

Because you will not prevail not only due to this report but the fact that your grandchildren were hurt and hospitalized in your care. I suggest you look up Statutes involving CPS - try the Family Code in your State. You did not protect these children against injury, probably did not attend classes like most CPS agencies required.
YOU were responsible for those children's safety and you failed. Doctors at ERs do not call CPS unless they feel there is neglect/abuse involved. So once again GOOD LUCK. By posting this report you set yourself up for your so called "case" being dismissed. And NO I do not work for CPS.
