I switched my TV service from Adelphia to Direct TV back in October of 2004. At that time, I had a credit balance on my bill. I shut off my service with Adelphia 9 months ago, but yet I am still receiving a bill from them every month saying I have a credit balance.

I have emailed, called, & even sent the bill back every single month since then, asking for my credit check to be sent to me.

Everytime I call or email, I am told a request will be put thru to release my check, but yet I never seem to receive it and the credit balance is still on my so called bill, even though I haven't had service with them for the past 9 months.

If this was owed to them, they would do everything they could to collect the money!

Call customer service again. When the representative comes on the line go ahead and verify the account. I know it's annoying, but it must be done.
Now, advised the representative that you have not recieved your refund yet. Advise them they need to put your mailing address (where you want the check sent) in the "bill to" portion of your account. Yes, even if it's the same address. Next advised them to go to the "equipment screen" and remove any "placeholders" on the screen. Then advise they submit the reqeuest to billing to have the check generated. You should receive it within four weeks.

The way the system is setup it can't tell the difference between a "placeholder" and a real piece of company owned equipment. Because some people move when they disconnect the software will not allow check generation if no bill to address is provided.

Odds are you keep getting stuck with "new hires" when you call. I see it often enough. Follow the steps above and you should be ok.
