Adelphia ripoff Waterville Maine
i recently moved to maine and ordered adelphia digital cable digital basic after a month i decided it was too much so on the 9th of the next month i canceled it and downgraded it they came and took my cable box the next day the next bill comes in and its like 100 dollars i was like i canceled it on the 9th thats nine days why am i being charged the full price. i havent payed the bill yet and they have been harrasing me all week. i herd from a lady that she dident pay on time once and they called her house 4 times that day and when she tryed to call after work they were busy so she decided to wait till the next day to call and there was a adelphia contractor outside her house that next day at 8 am a neighbor said quote i saw a cable guy in front of your house in the morning around trash time. which is like around 8 usaully.its like when they have to answer to a law suit they take there time. this women was 62 collecting a check at home tv kept her entertained. maybe if you owned up to legal troubles as fast as you shut people off this country would be a better place. your rates are high enough

High Speed Internet

First, Adelphia High Speed Internet (HSI) is not limited by how far away you are from a "box down the road". Adelphia HSI uses cable lines, which has the same strength of service regardless how far away you are from the equipment. DSL Internet service through a phone line DOES use a box at the end of the road and the speed of the internet is dependant of how far you are from the box. If your friend in New Hampshire is having issues, it is probably through a DSL company, not Adelphia (yes, there is a difference).
Second, Adelphia's Premier HSI has a maximum download speed 1/3 higher than regular HSI. The Upload speed is twice as fast as regular HSI. However, just like all computer programs and services, your computer has a lot to do with how fast it runs. If there are a lot of programs running, it will slow down the computer, even if it is on a high speed service.
Thank You.

Premier highspeed internet the only real good thing about it is that the upload speed is greater the download speed is not that much difference.Oh and i have another person whos says they have adelphia in nh and they have the highspeed internet but their not getting the speeds their supposed to they called the company and they told them the problem they said that they were to far from this box at the end of their street on the pole and nothing has been done. the office just moved to route 102 and there not nore then a mile away why cant they add another box halfway up the street they are aware why do people half to pay for half service just add another router or whatever box

First, the actions of persons in charge of Adelphia 2-3 years ago have nothing to do with when Adelphia disconnects customers for nonpayment. As a courtesy, Adelphia will attempt to contact our customers to make a payment arrangement. Believe me, we DO NOT want to disconnect anybody.
Second. All statements are printed in advance. For example, a bill will print on the 20th for the next months service (Sept 20 bill is for service from Oct 1 to 31). The billing computer automatically charges you for whatever level of service you have that day. It doesn't take into account future changes, such as returning equipment. I am confidant that your next statement will show credit for the digital service that was returned and unused.
Third. Please, please don't go by what someone told someone else. That only adds in a persons preconcieved ideas, theories and unsupported information.
Fourth. All rates are high enough. Phone, electricity, gas, food and yes, entertainment rates have increased. However, Cable is the ONLY thing that, even though the rates are higher, there are more services/channels available then there used to be. Fuel rate goes up, but you don't get more fuel. Electricity rates increase every year, the only thing you get is a more confusing bill, but no more electricity. Cable's main function is to provide TV channels. There are a lot more channels available now then ever before. Please put things in perspective.
Thank You.
