I'm another one! Just paid about $300 (1/29 about 1:00PM)
in Palm Beach Gardens FL for 2 "Audiofile 583LR" tower speakers- same basic story as everybody. They showed me the spec sheet with MSRP of $1300. This is the only site that mentions them.

I knew better too, probably like most of you, but that little greedy voice inside talks you out of your common sense and suspicion when you might be getting a great deal. Well, I'll never ignore that voice again!

Isn't there anything we can do? Some of the guys
posting here even got license plates. Yes
there is money exchanged, etc. so it isn't outright theft, but I would think the police would still consider this fraud and if nothing else illegal commerce (no tax collected, no C.O. or license to conduct business, etc.).

Does anybody know who really manufactures these
speakers and the REAL specs? (They certainly aren't
400 watt speaks!) We're stuck with the d**n things, might as well know something about them.

I guess I'll make a project out of fitting the box with some better speakers (anybody have any advice on this - I don't know the first thing). The box is the only good thing about these!

Great site by the way -- thanks for being there and
keep up the good work. - Jeff
