Admiral Yacht Sales / Ken Godwin Sold yacht out from under me after agreement reached, paperwork & deposit sent. ST. AUGUSTINE Florida
This broker and I had reached an agreement on a yacht that I wished to purchase. I signed the offer acceptance letter, obtained the requested deposit funds and scanned the signed paperwork in and emailed it as requested to secure the boat. That was Monday. Tuesday, I sent the paperwork and the deposit funds via courier (UPS) to be delivered on Thursday.
On Thursday, the paperwork and deposit funds were received, but the broker informed me that they went ahead and sold the boat to another party on Wednesday that offered them more money than what we had agreed upon. The day AFTER my acceptance letter and deposit were sent.
Avoid this broker. They will sell your new-to-you yacht out from under you if they get a chance. I worked very hard to make the deal happen and now I have to wait several weeks to get my deposit back.
Their behavior is very unprofessional, discourteous and if it's not illegal, it should be. The deal was struck and agreed to, once the paperwork and deposit were in the courier's hands and verified via tracking number, the boat should have been mine.
These guys are simply dishonest, unscrupulous and unprofessional. Avoid them if you value your sanity. They will screw you.
The brokerage is named Admiral Yacht Sales, located in Saint Augustine, FL. The specific broker I dealt with is Ken Godwin. His email address is ohanaracing@gmail.com and his phone number is (904) 237-2598.
I'll be preparing packets to send to the MN, FL and US Attorney's General including email threads, text messages and voice conversation transcripts. This brokerage and its brokers should lose their licenses and ability to continue doing business.

You, sir, are wrong on every counterpoint.
FACT: I submitted SCANNED copies of my SIGNED paperwork via EMAIL as outlined in the OFFER LETTER.
FACT: I also submitted SCANNED copies of the money order stubs via EMAIL - this was not requested by you but was a COURTESY.
FACT: This documentation was submitted to you on MONDAY via EMAIL.
FACT: The documentation was sent via TWO DAY delivery on TUESDAY and the TRACKING number of the parcel sent to you by EMAIL.
FACT: You sold the boat out from under me on WEDNESDAY. TWO DAYS AFTER I had submitted my SIGNED documents.
FACT: You received the paperwork and money orders for the deposit AS PROMISED by 10AM THURSDAY.
FACT: Your behavior was UNPROFESSIONAL and UNDERHANDED.
FACT: You are incapable of honoring a business agreement once made in the sole interest of PROFIT and will sell a vessel out from under someone without so much as a COURTESY call. You are not trustworthy. You do not deserve my, or anyone elses, business.
The agreement had been REACHED. The offer letter SIGNED and SUBMITTED by the requested medium of EMAIL SCANS once SIGNED.
Your "rebuttal" is full of hot air, and you are a liar, Sir.

“Negotiate” means any communication
Admiral Yacht Sales is and will always follow the laws governed by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The complaint above is totally erroneous and has no merit whatsoever.
He was upset that another buyer came in before him since it took him two weeks to submit a contract via US Postal Service instead of using email or fax. He also sent in four seperate Money Grams since he supposedly doesnt have a bank account.
As a professional I cannot rely on selling a customers boat on a promise of funds being there. This is why we always ask for funds deposited into our Escrow account.
