Complaint Review: Adult Friend Finder

When I went to the signup page it said a full year and half was $0. So naturally I thought some kind of special was running. They also asked for credit card information, I assumed it was for ID verification. I got the confirmation page showing that $0 would be charged and I was happe with that.

The next day I saw a charge of $142 onto my bank account plus a $5 international fee and a $32 overage charge from the bank. I only had a few dollars int he account to begin with. When I contacted them they offered me a whopping 30% off the $142 to make things right. Which still put my account way in the negative.

After about two hours they decided to refund the $142 but said they couldn't do anything for the $32 or $5 fees. it's been a week and a half and the money still hasn't been returned into my account. I talked to the bank and they filed fraudulant charges against them. Apparently this is not the first time they have seen cases like this with the Friend Finder networks and other such companies. The bank even told me that the charge of $142 could still be cancelled by the company because it wasn't posted to the account. Which if this had been done it would have been instant and the other charges wouldn't have even been a worry.

Lesson learned here is if the deal looks too good to be true it isn't! Also, I wouldn't deal with friend finder because in my opinion $142 is rediculous for their services.
